According to Putin, we are at war. A US missile system hit targets inside Russia. This system apparently requires NATO personnel to select targets and is guided by US satellites.

Yeah yeah, you blind sheep don't believe a single word Alex Jones says. You should really watch this and refute any lies. You will understand why the nukes are raining down and finally wake up just before we all sleep forever

Your brain washing is so deep. Sad

Or are you a politician with your hand in the cookie jar and you would rather have the apocalypse instead of have your sins exposed to the world?

The good news: Russia claims to have shot them down. No casualties.

2nd Debate Question de Jour:

Why would Putin start a war when he is about to imbed his mole, Tulsi, at the most sensitive level of the U.S. Government?

Let's just start WW3 already. I'm tired of working anyway.

I'm all about negotiation: How about Ukraine tells Putin that they will stop firing US-made missiles into territory that Russia currently occupies, if Putin sends his WW III North Korean troops back home (they can have one last big meal before departing).

After that, NATO can tell Putin that Ukraine will never join, provided the Russian troops get the heck out of 50% of whatever they've occupied and Russia honors Ukraine's sovereignty.

So simple!

Do you even realize Ukraine was ready to sign an even better deal than this before Boris Johnson intervened and urged them to fight on?

You guys have been promising that THIS latest move by NATO or the US or whoever is going to cause World War 3 for a little while now (though curiously, somehow none of Russia's actions would be to blame). I don't think Russia has the capability to actually wage a full-scale world war right now, so to me this is all bluster.

Try to imagine a scenario where Russia is firing missiles into the United States through a proxy. Would you still have a cavalier attitude then?

I'll have an opinion on that if and when it actually happens. Who do you think is going to directly attack the US?

Well, if the proxy was Mexico and we had invaded it and killed/maimed 1M of it's citizens maybe we had it comin'.

*Putin knows he only needs to wait a couple of months and retrieval of the former Eastern Bloc is within his grasp.

The point was to see things from Russia's perspective, something the public in the West has been brainwashed into disregarding. This scenario is what is happening to Russia right now. As for an attack on the US, that may be coming. The Russians would be justified in doing so. And then what? A US response--we can't appear weak--which of course leads to a Russia response until pretty soon there are pretty serious casualties on both sides. Then what, a ground war? tactical nukes? It's not far-fetched at all. Someone has got to step back and do the sane thing by not retaliating. I have no confidence that the neocons are capable of that.

Whether you agree with them or not, the Russians feel like the aggrieved party and have suffered the loss of perhaps 100,000 or more troops, Again, try to imagine if the tables were turned.

"….. the Russians feel like the aggrieved party and have suffered the loss of perhaps 100,000 or more troops,"

These things happen when you invade another nation and it resists. Making war has costs. There are a whole lot Russian citizens being silenced or imprisoned for expressing this very opinion.

I think in many respects Putin is bluffing to deter escalation (e.g., his threat to use tactical nukes).

That being said, to the original point, Putin will likely escalate. And Putin doesn't have to respond by attacking the US. Hopefully the response is aimed at Ukraine - which now has a state department warning. But he could attack a NATO country in his neighborhood (Poland, which I believe is aiding Ukraine, or Finland/Sweden). What then? Now you have a test of the NATO alliance . . . which probably has to respond.

The real question is . . . why remove the restraints on Ukraine now? You should fight to win or not fight. Either the restraints should have been removed a long time ago or not at all. But Biden didn't want to escalate. Again - why now?

That is the problem with Biden's entire Ukraine policy - he has been hesitant and late to take the actions needed to win. Similar problems with Israel where the Gaza war could have been over by now if Biden had let the Israelis fight to win.

I have very mixed feelings about Ukraine and can see worthy arguments on both sides. But, unlike Biden, I have the luxury of not being responsible for setting policy. Biden's policy has been a muddled rudderless disaster with no clear strategic objectives.

Yeah, we are already blaming decades of increasing inequality on immigrants, why not put the burden of war on more poor uneducated groups where the mili is an attractive work option.

That would accomplish several things:

* Military industrial complex kickbacks. They produce, trump gets a cut.

* No need to tackle debt, war is more important.

* Distraction from all other Trump crimes and inappropriatenesses.

* Excuse to halt elections during war.

* 5 other beneficial angles they've beat me to long ago.

I agree with you here. Biden IS weak. He couldn't navigate international relationships just like he couldn't navigate kicking Trump into jail, let alone defeat.
And yes, it's like a parting snipe.

But all this should not be a problem. Trump will resolve and declare himself king. Right?
