The main criticism about the new WH ballroom is that it dwarfs the White House, arguably the most iconic landmark building in the US. They should have built it somewhere else in DC.

Also that Trump started demolition without dealing with niceties like approval from oversight boards.

The claim is made that it is all privately funded. Have they released any details? Privately funded by who?

Trump, who also offered $100 mil for the project during the Obama administration.
Google is paying $22 mil from a lawsuit and $5mil on their own
Lockheed Martin is paying $10 mil+
Blackstone is paying an undisclosed amount. Others as well

Reading Albert Speers memoir is a pretty good how-to on what is happening these days. Speers talks about how Hitler would force industrialists and business people to fund his pet projects. This is nothing new in the authoritarian world.

Again with the Hitler references. The left surely does love bringing that guy up.

Forced? What evidence do you have of Trump forcing anyone to pay for this?

You are naive, aren't you?

Again I ask, what evidence do you have of anyone being forced to pay for this ballroom? Call me whatever name you want but you didn't answer the question

It depends on how you define forced. If the names of donors are divulged, I'll expect that many of them have problems, "investigations" or tariffs pending that affect themselves or their businesses and a generous donation made everything get put on the back burner.

Just a hunch, but I was reading that NASA was threatening to drop SpaceX from the project to send men back to the Moon. Elon Musk was having a meltdown on X. It wouldn't surprise me if Musk makes a large public spirited donation in the near future to one of Trump's pet projects.

So you have no proof. Got it. Another baseless claim that makes Trump into a dictator to fit your narrative.

This is how the Trump Administration intends to rig future elections:

Even after that election, conservative activists continued to hunt for evidence of fraud caused by machines. In 2023, multiple people, including a former state representative, were indicted in Michigan as part of a brazen scheme to illegally obtain and inspect election machines. Tina Peters, a former county clerk in Colorado, is serving nine years in prison for tampering with voting machines in an effort to prove that the machines had been used to rig the 2020 election against Mr. Trump.

Tina Peters is a whistleblower who's guilty of catching the Democrats cheating in Colorado in 2020.

1. The voting machines used in Colorado are primarily made by Dominion. Fox News paid Dominion $787,000,000 to settle a defamation action relating to Fox News claiming Dominion voting machines were used to rig the 2020 Election.

How many millions do you reckon Fox News spent trying to prove those voting machines were rigged before they wire transferred $787,000,000 to the trust account of Dominion's counsel?

2. In August 2024, Tina Peters was convicted in Colorado state court on seven charges four of which were felonies relating to unauthorized access to election machines. She was subsequently sentenced to nine years of incarceration;

3. Tina Peters is a garden variety crook that also defrauded her husband.

Why can't MAGAs be honest with themselves? Trump pardons convicted felons that share his political beliefs and that committed crimes they believed were helping Trump impose his agenda on our nation.

Does it make MAGAs feel like they are still decent people if they rationalize that all the felons Trump pardons are innocent?

BTW, Trump can't pardon a state court convicted jailbird.
