I bash you regularly, for cause.
But for once I'll say Thank You for posting this landmark interview with the great David Faber.

There are so many aspects that could be scrutinized! For instance, we now get to see if there will be "1000 robotaxis in Austin in 18 months."

Elon is sometimes very nuanced with his words, like "essentially no interventions", which is a completely conditioned statement about how well they are performing now. Other times he's bold and clear cut like how there will be 1 million robotaxis self-driving Teslas in (I forget the timeframe) - for a fee of $99/month. Faber pointed out how this was promised in 2019, and I never heard anything about an additional fee.

The interviewee got defensive about how he's disliked, attacking the Nazi salute interpretation. A better strategy, I might suggest, is rather than use anger, try saying you were hurt that a gesture of love could be thusly interpreted, and try telling people how you disavow Naziism and everything it stood for.

Then the interviewee attacked the interviewer by claiming he was being attacked by the questions. Faber angled that off and then pivoted back to cars, lol.

Of course, Elon pivoted from the pointed questions he didn't like, by starting with "First of all". Twice.

Faber had to balance asking the questions he had to, wanted to, while also keeping Musk in the seat.
We've seen how Musk can become heated under the jacket and cut interviews short, or the interviewer Off altogether. Don Lemmon anyone?
Faber has to play that balancing act, too.

Elon seemed much more subdued than in prior years. Constrained. Unhappy and stressed. The weight of his Trump involvement shows.

And what a lie it was to say he doesn't look at the competition (BYD). If he competes favorably, he tells us. If not, he "just tries to build the best product possible"? Farce!

"China is the most competitive car market in the world", he says. And isn't it at the very core of the American free market ethos that competition builds the best products at the most efficient pricing? That's quite a thing for us Americans to consider!

We'll see if Faber gets a second bite of the Musk after that all important phone call! Ha!
