What was that lineup in 1974?

I'll take the lineup I saw at a Day on the Green in 1974 over any act I've seen in 40 years. Have you ever seen the musical guests on SNL? Most of the time I feel they are mocking me.
Jerry Garcia famously stated that rap is "not music," defining it instead as "talking in meter" with rhyme and rhythm. In a 1990s interview, he clarified that while he had no personal issue with it, he did not consider rappers "great musicians" because, in his view, the art form lacked the potential for infinite musical growth found in traditional music.

CSN&Y, The Band, Joe Walsh & Barnstorm and Jesse Colin Young.
*Jerry Garcia was not criticizing the lyrics of rap but rather the lack of musicianship and Jerry had the musical chops to have a persuasive opinion on that.

His criticism was it is "talking in meter". That is lyric writing. He couldn't do it.

He couldn't sing either.
It's a dumb comment. Rap is rooted in an oral tradition that predates " music"

The ones that he said he has a list of. If he's not just grifting, name them Massie.
