Yes, I was watching the Livestream and the guy that was doing the broadcast said that someone had opened up a fire extinguisher on the infield. The camera didn't actually show it, but you could see some white "smoke" coming across the live video near the finish line.
Turns out that the winner of the Girls 400m,
Clara Adams of North Salinas got a bit too excited and she set off a fire extinguisher that her Dad had handed her from the stands.
To celebrate her victory, she stepped off the track and sprayed her track spikes with the extinguisher.
CIF officials not only took her 1st place away for
unsportsmanlike celebration, but they barred her from running in the 200m later in the meet.
As some of you track fans may recall, Maurice Greene did the same thing (but in the middle of the track) after winning a 100m race. He threw off his shoes and his coach ran over to spray them with a fire extinguisher.
The father of Adams claims that his daughter wasn't disrespecting anyone given that the incident happened "off the track" and "not in front of her opponents".
"I have video of it," said David Adams.
"She was on the other side of the wall, I told her to step off the track. She did not spray her shoes on the track. We have protested the decision. I fell it was racially motivated/."
CIF officials (the white ones) can be some of the most "brain-dead" people.

"We're not letting you on the podium" Adams said.
Adams ran 53.24 in the 400m in the Finals.
She owned the fastest time in the State coming into the Championships at 53.23
She's only a SOPHOMORE.
I can't imagine what she's feeling today, let alone how she will be feeling every day of her life that she steps foot on the track until she winds up at STATE again a year from now.
