Thank You President Trump!

At least 6,000 sailors remain stranded aboard hundreds of ships in the Persian Gulf six months into the war with Iran, according to the United Nations' maritime agency.

The International Maritime Organization said Friday that 19 seafarers have been killed since the conflict began Feb. 28.

At least 70 attacks on international shipping have also been recorded in the Persian Gulf during the war, according to the agency.

The disruption comes as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains well below normal levels despite U.S. efforts to secure the critical waterway.

Before the war, roughly 20% of the world's traded oil and natural gas passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

In June, July, and August, and before, Trump said we already won the war.

He was correct. Time was still needed but the war is over and has been.

And yet Trump hasn't achieved any goals involving regime change or nuclear disarmament.
The goalposts kept getting moved to the point where there is no winning.

You're measuring success against regime change, which was never an official objective, and complete nuclear disarmament, which is broader than Trump's stated goal of preventing an Iranian bomb. Iran's military, naval and proxy capabilities have been substantially degraded, so claiming "nothing was achieved" is absolutely overstated.

I'm afraid you're terribly mistaken.
Regime change was clearly an official objective.

Trump Talks Regime Change in Iran After Strikes, But History Shows That Could be Very Hard

You would be terribly mistaken, according to AI. He spoke about it but it was never made it an official objective.

Regime change was never an official U.S. war objective. Trump encouraged Iranians to challenge their government, but when initially explaining the campaign he identified preventing an Iranian nuclear weapon and degrading its missile program, not overthrowing the regime.

Yeah, at the beginning of the war the official goal was clearly stated: Open up the Strait of Hormuz!

Oh wait...

And that goal is nearly achieved.

Soon we will all be able to congratulate the government for getting something we already had before the war started!

We did not have control of the strait before hand so I don't understand your post.

No one needed to control it because no one was trying to block it . . . until we decided to start a war.

A country was threatening nuclear war on America before we started a war too. Now they are in shambles and we control the strait. Win win win.

Who was threatening nuclear war on America?? Did I miss something??

It was never about nuclear war on America, it is about Israel losing its nuclear monopoly and escalatory dominance over the region.

We can start with, "That goal [of opening the Strait of Hormuz] is nearly achieved."

There's factual information to be had. That ain't it.

What other Iranian propaganda are you buying?

Why would you believe anything from CNBC, the UK, or the U.S. military?

The Iranians have been infinitely more reasonable, consistent, and truthful.

Iran made extensive use of decoys, especially in the early days of the conflict after 2/28. U.S. & Israeli fighter pilots thought they'd taken out most of Iran's missile launchers; in reality, they'd wasted precious ammo, and fuel, to take out decoys.

So I have no doubt that some of Iran's mines are decoys. But -- are ALL decoys??

I'm not the one who needs convincing.

This won't convince the insurers. They know that the IRGC has drones, missiles, underwater drones & even artillery to "discourage" ships from going thru. They aren't counting on one weapon alone.

This is another desperate attempt at lying to the American People, and manipulating markets.

Are you getting tired of "winning" yet?

1) The Iranian government chants, "Death to America."

2) Iran has been developing nukes for years.

Same reasons we invaded Iraq.

With the main difference being the shear amount of terror Iran organizes and funds in the Middle East. We have fought their proxies for years before this war started.

Where were we fighting their proxies?

in the Middle East. They terrorize trade routes and our ally Israel, amongst other things.

This post is pretty noteworthy because it has an element of truth, we started this war against Iran on Israel's behalf, as confirmed by policy insiders like Kent.

I believe I've made my position clear: I'm not really against seeing their military capabilities degraded, but everything about what we've done there has been one blunder after another.

Those "upgraded" figures still show a drop of over 80% to 90% from prewar traffic.

AI Overview:

Approximately 100 to 140 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz each day before the war. [1, 2]

Pre-War Traffic Details
  • Daily Average: Estimates generally ranged from 100 to about 138140 vessels per day in both directions.
  • Cargo Types: More than half of these ships were tankers carrying a large share of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas.
  • Volume: Roughly 20 million barrels of oil moved through the waterway daily prior to the conflict. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Current Daily Traffic Numbers

Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has collapsed by roughly 80% to 95% compared to pre-war baselines. [1, 2]
  • Recent Daily Average: The waterway is averaging just 5 to 15 commodity vessels per day. [1, 2]
  • The "Closed" Effect: Commercial traffic plummeted immediately following the February 2026 missile strikes. Short-lived diplomatic agreements briefly lifted volumes to about 2025 ships per day in June, but a resumed blockade and escalating security risks choked traffic back down. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Remaining Fleet: The minimal traffic still transiting consists primarily of medium-range tankers and gas carriers operating under heavy naval escort or navigating with their tracking transponders completely deactivated. [1, 2]

Yup, pretty incredible stuff alright.

Ive repeatedly posted average daily traffic volumes of 120 - 140 vessels a day occurred BEFORE THE WAR and yet those facts still get ignored.

The spin there doesn't withstand very basic scrutiny...

Looks like there has been a renewal in hostilities, US attack earlier tonight on Larak Island, main Iranian island in the Hormuz Strait, followed 2 hours later by Iran retaliating with missile salvoes aimed at the two main Jordanian air bases used by the USAF. One noteworthy element is that the US used drones to attack Iran.

Yeah, I still give it a 5 that he will NEGOTIATE the opening of the Strait of Hormutz AND DESTROY all of Iran's uranium and their nuclear capability. Maybe even less than a 5. Actually, I give that a 3 that we will accomplish diablo's version of Trump's objectives.
