There are actually cases now where hi tech East Indian employers are allegedly discriminating against other East Indian employees based on their (supposedly dead) caste status. We saw this last week when someone posted 3 consecutive times about 18 million barrels of oil passing thru the Strait in one day. - - - And yet they provided ZERO source for their claim.

Meanwhile, oil prices continue to surge higher.

If Donald Trump had posted that we have "TOTAL CONTROL" of the Strait he would have gotten 8 stars.

I assert that yes, Indian and Chinese programmers from their elite colleges are better than American counterparts that take a couple classes at some for profit trade school. If you have ever been around these programmers and IT trained H1Bs, you would know.

I've worked in hi tech. One of the CEOs hired a law firm, placed phantom job postings, and required a minimum of a Masters degree to do basic programming. One hundred percent of programmers were hired from his country, and made to work seven days a week for quite a while (unaware of their worker rights, and they all wanted a Green Card). A few were great, many average, and some sucked.

It's kind of a tell when 5, 6, 10 years go by, and an American is never hired.

It's mathematically impossible in California if you have an open, unbiased hiring process, to not have also hired American programmers, Chinese programmers, and maybe a programmer from Singapore, Australia, or Europe.

It is quiet possible to have a department of mostly or all men, as women have low numbers in university programming courses, and they dislike the career volatility, long hours, and long hours staring at a screen. I've worked and met plenty of talented technical women who moved into QA, program management, or customer-facing roles to have more human interaction. They bring interest in qualitative issues some men care less about.
