We all knew the answer before you asked it.

I doubt that was the case, many here (mostly the MAGA types) seem pretty naive about economics and the market.

I would say that you are 100% correct SBG.

I would say that you are 100% wrong Diablo. People don't engage in conversation with you for much different reasons than you have in your head.

Thanks.
I've clearly done well and can prove it.

I've tried to share the "wealth" here with MAGA posters.
But they'd rather spend all day arguing . . . than making money.

I'd rather make money.

It's a CULT.

That 's not my interpretation of the majority of the time you share "wealth" here with posters. Sometimes I can wade through the puffery and find some real information, and I do appreciate those occasions.

Rarely. Its most often putting others down for not being as rich as him or making fun of others for not investing in the same medical device he did.

I would say that you are 100% correct SBG.

When it comes to the markets, the knowledge base by MAGA is terribly low.
The recent "discussion" on the crude oil market is the poster child for this.

More often than not, MAGA has to resort to posting tweets from some talking head that they don't even fully comprehend. Because it is biased towards their politics, they simply "embrace" it without having a clue about it. We saw this repeatedly with tweets from conservative "influencers" like the college drop-out Amuse by Trump supporters.

It's FUNNY.

They actually spend most of their time trying to dodge substantive topics in favor of pedantics

There doesn't seem to be much interest in how the ECONOMY is doing, but I will continue this thread by posting today's SEPTEMBER CPI data which was higher than the 3.6% expected.

Perhaps even more concerning is that the Core CPI (which excludes food and energy) rose 2.6% from a year ago, accelerating from a 2.4% rate in August and higher than the forecast of 2.5%

The US Treasury 10 year yield has dropped 14 basis points today (26 basis points since it's peak 10 days ago) as fresh headlines appear about higher inflation. Mainstream financial media is so confused about the state of affairs that CNBC presented this sentence in an article today:
Quote:

Treasury yields dropped Thursday, as investors cashed in some technology shares today and fled to the safety of bonds following the latest inflation data.

This is non-sensical because bonds are typically where you would want to run AWAY from with higher inflation. The recent runup in Treasury rates has been driven by higher inflation AND by a crowding out of credit by the surge into AI financing. The wealthy need places to put their money and the latest bubble they have created is the AI bubble (before that was the mortgage bubble and before that was the dot-com bubble). Global AI spending in 2026 has increased 47% to $2.6 trillion. That is larger than the GDP of France.

As AI investing approaches the "trough of disillusionment" investors are leaving the sector and seeking safety in US Treasuries (as they always do). Wall Street romantics like to talk about "bond vigilantes" forcing yields higher because of national debt and inflation but this outdated term harkens back to an era of fewer, smaller investors (in a far more equitable society in terms of wealth) who were able to wield clout on the much smaller US Treasury bond market of decades ago (debt to GDP when the term originated in 1983 was 24%, compared to 126% now). Now the massive interests involved move markets in a more far reaching way. The AI bubble has been crowding out Treasury investment and driving up interest rates. Going forward the drop in Treasury rates will likely be commensurate with the size of the AI bubble decline.

And that was as of July 2026.
The borrowing is much higher now for the quarter that just ended Sept. 30th

Try $246 Billion per month.

Our annual budget deficit for the fiscal year that just ended in September was $1.99 Trillion.

In fact, our interest on our debt is now at $1.05 Trillion during fiscal 2026.
Social Security is $1.67 Trillion and Medicare is at $1.06 Trillion.

This is why Foreign investors have slashed Treasury purchases by 59%.

They don't trust our balance sheet.
Can you blame them?

That's a misleading oversimplification. Clinton inherited an economy that was already growing following the 1990-91 recession. Carter inherited an economy growing more than 5% annually, and Biden inherited an economy recovering from a global pandemic. If you're going to give Democrats credit for economic recoveries, you also have to acknowledge when those recoveries began under Republicans.

That's FALSE.

In 1992, 10 million Americans were unemployed, the country faced record deficits that were 4.5% of GDP, and poverty and welfare rolls were growing. Jobs were being created at the slowest rate since the Great Depression.

In fact, the unemployment rate peaked in June of 1992 at 7.8%

You're confusing a weak labor market with an economy that wasn't recovering. Yes, unemployment peaked at 7.8% in June 1992. But it had already fallen to 7.3% when Clinton took office. More importantly, the National Bureau of Economic Research officially dates the end of the recession to March 1991, nearly two years before Clinton's inauguration. Real GDP grew approximately 3.3% in 1992, and the economy was adding jobs before Clinton entered the White House.

Nobody is arguing that Bush left behind a perfect economy. Unemployment and poverty were serious problems. But Clinton inherited an economy already in expansion, not one still in recession. Those are two different claims, and the economic data establishes that distinction.
