A Labor Department rule that cut wages for foreign guest workers is unlawful, a California federal judge ruled Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Kirk E. Sherriff in Fresno concluded that the Labor Department failed to reasonably consider whether it could satisfy its legal obligation "to ensure that the hiring of H-2A workers will not 'adversely affect' U.S. farmworkers' wages." But he allowed the Department of Labor rule to remain temporarily in effect while the agency develops a replacement.

Sherriff ordered the Labor Department to "promptly produce" a new methodology for calculating H-2A wage rates consistent with his decision. He directed the agency to notify employers backpay may be owed to H-2A workers and U.S. farmworkers if the new applicable rates exceed what they were paid.

The ruling is a win for farmworker advocates who sued the Trump administration last year, arguing that the rule would undercut wages paid to U.S. workers. More than a dozen farmworkers across the nation, along with the United Farm Workers of America and the UFW Foundation, sought to overturn the rule.

Yes because the deal would be for ownership of the oil fields. Canada screwed themselves over. It's all political. They come crawling back to the table once their referendum election is over in Alberta and the provincial election, where Quebec is looking like it'll possibly be controlled by separatists.

He's forced to make an investment in Venezuelan oil fields because American companies are on the fence about gambling their capital on Venezuela's oil industry. - - - Major U.S. Oil Companies have yet to make any big new investments since Maduro was ousted in January. They've been BURNED too many times.

I bet if Trump used a few of what's left of our missiles to take out Canada's leadership. their people would rise up and happily become our 51st state! It pretty much worked in that war we won against Iran earlier this year! (not the state part... who'd want Iran as one of our states?)

The IMO's Nuclear Ship Code requires designs to analyze groundings, collisions with other ships and fixed objects, flooding, and even sinking, and requires protective structures around the reactor compartment. The U.S. NS Savannah was designed around scenarios including collision, grounding, flooding, sinking, fire, and explosion.
