This is a separate question from whether or not the Russian government tried to influence the election. Such an attempt is worth an investigation/response regardless of how successful it was.

(Also, no large national election is decided by only ONE factor.)

I already knew all that stuff; and it has been public for quite a while. Also, there's the bank in one of the small Mediterranean countries (Cyprus, Malta, I can't remember right now) which has been notorious for years for being a center of Russian money laundering, and on the Board of which, for a lot of years, was a current cabinet member.

The point is: Why has all of that not been front and center in all the public debate about the current Administration? [Answer: Probably because the 1% wanted to ride this useful tool to the tax grab they just got through]

Next question: Even assuming the 1% is ready to let Trump go (and the Senate allowing debate on immigration legislation is a sign of that - with the idea that they still feel that totally alienating the Hispanic Community is too dangerous for the Right Wing (seeing the effect it had in California), is Trump's 40% base strong enough to withstand the forces that the 1% can let loose?

I have zero confidence that the Russia investigation will "bring Trump down" while Republicans control the House. If Democrats take control then the chances go up. Even a Democratic majority may find it more useful to have Trump kept in office but mired in scandal and unable to further any of his agenda.

I was surprised to see the Stormy/Cohen story as the headline of the Fox News website right now. On the other hand, it does help them push down and almost out of sight the Porter/Kelly story. Based on the capacity of most Republicans to let Trump slide on all manner of disgusting behavior, I think most would see this hush money as sliding right off his greasy orange skin.
