I love when American fast food chains open their first restaurants in Australia because local TV never knows how to report on it.

I haven't studied it, but it's my impression that Wendy's has struggled with their overseas expansion in the past. I think it's been supply chain issues like finding a reliable source of fresh ground beef, etc. Still, I'm surprised they haven't been in Australia before this. I agree with their talking head. 10 stores sounds like a trial balloon. They are going need many more to make it worth their while.82gradDLSdad said:okaydo said:I love when American fast food chains open their first restaurants in Australia because local TV never knows how to report on it.

This is merely a forum where people like to gather to discuss various things.
Thanks, Okaydo, for making it a lively town square.
I just wish we could still get Blondies Pizza while discussing such things (before a Cal hoops game).

I never thought I'd laugh about chess.
But this was funny.
Some theorize that people can be so desperate to win at chess that they shove electronic "beads" up their butts to receive vibration signals from a friend in the audience who has had a computer indicate the best next move.
Well written, as I had no idea where this story was headed.

Another anonymous comedian:
Accuser Carlsen on left.
Accused upstart Neimann on right.
Carlsen is from Norway. World #1.
Neimann is just 19, born in SF, attended school in SoCal and Del Rey elementary in Orinda (me too, for 3 years!) Of Hawaiian and Danish descent, lived in Netherlands and NYC.

*I assume that the contracts of the LIV Tour members provide that the venue for all disputes shall be in The Kingdom. So if LIV ever goes tits up and a player sues to get his promised millions, he will be litigating in Saudi Arabia, where the losing party in an action against a House of Saud business interest gets his pecker amputated.
