We all know that this is just more posturing to get votes and excite the progressive voter base. And this just also feeds into the far rights' view on how lost the far left is.

Not too different from reparation that will cost more than double the annual budget. No one is getting a cent but committees were appointed and people discussed just to say they tried.

California has a big budget deficit this year that will eat into their rainy day fund (all from a capital gain boon that won't be repeated anytime soon), they have a spiraling homelessness situation, and bigger cities in the state are becoming less and less desirable place for families to live or visit. They are not giving unemployment benefits to illegal immigrants.

Just more posturing on both sides.

I am talking about the state budget.

This is all pandering for votes, but when the budgeting process / costs are considered, it will never be approved.

A mayor or DA choosing what to prosecute is wholly different from budgeting for payment of unemployment benefits. Besides, this would destroy the argument that we need more immigration to address lack of labor.

Let's check back in a year to see if it has passed. If it has, I will admit you were wiser on this than I was. If not, then you will hopefully realize that so much of what you read and accept are intended to inflame your political hatred and get you to keep clicking since anger is more addicting than understanding.
