Dems finally figure out the art of "messaging". Now they sit back and wait for Trump's head to explode each time he hears somebody refer to "President Musk".

This is going to be better than a major WWF card. Somebody should sell popcorn.

2016 Nice truck attack - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Nice_truck_attack

*I was at that event on July 16, 1976 while backpacking through Europe. It was so crowded on that street by the beach ( Promenade des Anglais ) that you could never get out of the way of a vehicle.

We have no problem of shutting down the gov't for 30 days, we'll have the house and senate when it returns.

It has never gone well politically for the party that shuts down the government.

I'd like to see the Republicans do something that stupid (again).
I wouldn't like to see it because government shutdowns hurt people (and not just government employees).

But from a political standpoint, it is definitely not good for the party held responsible.
The question is whether the non mainstream media and social media buffoons can gaslight the public into believing the shutdown is the Democrats fault. How dare they choose not to bail out Trump and the dysfunctional GOP!

The shutdown will hurt me, though I've seen enough past government shutdowns to keep a healthy rainy day fund on hand just for these situations. I'll be OK unless a shutdown extends to Christmas 2025. It helps that we just paid off our mortgage a couple of months ago. I do worry about my younger co-workers that have only been working for a year or two and don't have much in savings. I remember being offered access to the local food bank during the last shutdown. I laughed it off, but some of us may need it if the shutdown last more than a few months.

Of course, a shutdown will impact many people that aren't government employees more than us, so I'm expecting a fairly short shutdown unless Musk decides to let us all eat cake.

Congrats on paying off the mortgage!

Thanks! My wife and I didn't want to still be paying on the mortgage when we were retired and in our 70s, so we made an over payment of $150 each month and paid off the 30 year mortgage in 19 years. Fairly painless and probably the smartest thing we ever did financially.

You might have been better off investing that extra $150/month, especially if inflation is going to keep up in the next 11 years.

Kamala tells him "I'll win with or without you" was her last words to him lol.

edit: first 9 mins of it is fire haha

edit: he said something I completely agree with "The social issues are important, but they don't matter. What matters is can I afford food, can I get a home, and keep that home, can I afford gas."

last edit I promise: What happened to Jimmy Hoffa, the question we all want to know! Timestamp link

Because there's only one federal detention center in New York City and they're all awaiting trial or appeal?

How do you have the ability to link to that tweet but not actually look up info?

Also, how can that person on Twitter be from Brooklyn and not know this?

Oh, I know… it's idiocy, clickbait or both.

Instead of Twitter, how about an actual source which was the Wall Street Journal ? :

Behind Closed Doors: The Spy-World Scientists Who Argued Covid Was a Lab Leak

"A spokeswoman for the Director of National Intelligence's office said that it wasn't standard practice to invite representatives from individual agencies to briefings for the president and that divergent views within the intelligence community were fairly represented."

What happened was that all of the intelligence agencies contributed to a report that Biden was briefed on. It's not that this scientist was denied from presenting. He just wasn't asked to present. There's a difference.

"The participants included Haines, the president's top intelligence official, and Murphy, from the National Intelligence Council. They were accompanied by another analyst from Haines's office and a technical expert from the Central Intelligence Agency."

It should be noted that "the FBI was the only agency that concluded a lab leak was likely."

Per HUD 750k people were homeless as of Jan 2024, up 20% from 2023; causes = stagnating wages, racism and 20% increase in housing.
