It wasn't right to hide Reagan's decline in his 2nd term and it wasn't right to hide Biden's. I can't really say they are hiding Trump's mental decline but MAGA likes to pretend Trump II hasn't declined since Trump I, but he dramatically has, and this is what we had on our hands during Trump I:

White House chief of staff John Kelly called Trump "an idiot" and said he thought the president was "unhinged."

Both Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former chief of staff Reince Priebus called Trump an "idiot."

Former economic adviser Gary Cohn said Trump was "dumb as sh@it," and former national security adviser H.R. McMaster said the president was a "dope."

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in November 2017 that Trump was "like an 11-year-old child."

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in July 2017 called Trump a "moron."

Every time Trump drops a rant on Truth Social, or launches into one of his stream of consciousness riffs during a press conference, he corroborates the observations of the men listed above…..and then some.

That was the case with Reagan and Biden and it is the case with Trump. I can assure you that the people running the country now are almost exclusively "yes" men and women with mediocre intellects.

I hope Rubio has the influence they say he has. I think he is a weak man and I disagree with his political views but I don't think he is evil, dumb as f@uck, completely corrupt, hates America, is in bed with America's enemies or has a mental disorder.

I think Rubio probably has an inner circle that he trusts and he tells them that Trump is in fact an aged moron losing what little he ever had, and that Trump's advisors, including the 23 former Fox News employees in his Administration, have no clue what they are doing.

Rubio has secretly promised his confidants that he will do his best to save the Republic, while keeping Trump at bay by pretending to be a loyalist.

Yes it's a tough way to go. Also, his experience seems to make it plausible that Biden might not have known about his condition until relatively recently. So I may have to reverse some of my own previous theorizing on this.

Some democrats are desperate to find points to concede on because they think it gives them some kind of credibility. It doesn't. It's just embarrassing cravenness.
