That was right about the time when the payout kicked in that was voted in by last year's Congress, where the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset were gotten rid of.

Basically, government workers had been getting LESS than other people who had paid in the same amount to Social Security. The payment was retroactive to the beginning of 2024, so people like me got a one-time check, plus increased benefits. That might explain the sudden dip. Thanks President Biden and the 2024 Congress!

(only for people who had had another job/career where they paid into Social Security long enough to get benefits)
