I get the suspicion and mistrust of the FBI, Mueller and American media. They have proven to be bad actors in the past with their own agenda, often counter to American values and protecting the American people. Basically they can be a bunch of fcckheads and arseholes.

The thing is, what other means do we have to shut this down or even investigate Trump, Russia and collusion. I say this with the full realization that instituations are there to protect the powers that be, so trust with the FBI, etc. is limited.

But here's the problem: unfortunately we have instituations that have been weakened...while facing a constitutional crisis. On that note, have to go with Mueller, hope there's enough in there and the follow up by SDNY feds, happens soon.

On the flip side, I'm thinking if it's a nothingburger and the SDNY doesn't do anything, Putin has won and divided the country...so might as well GTFO and move somewhere like Costa Rica or Tahiti. Or start the new cold war in ernest. Or in fact his might be a .01% global kleptocracy thing...which means the same, gtfo...buy the bomb shelter and bug out kit.

In other words, if Trump walks...the system is broken and it might be time to bail.

The other thing to remember is, as Alan Dershowitz points out, everything we will see shall be from the prosecutions side. Mueller and Co. were not interested in making the defense case. Dershowitz makes a case for Trump & Co seeing the report first to respond. Sounds like that will not even be needed.

Not a fan of Trump at all, but how many here will accept the report they have been trumpeting for 2 years as "The Gotcha" report. Not many, I would guess. All of our "confirmation biases" are being fed.

There could be more there and we may find this out as it has been investigated for more than two years, but it is also possible that trump's team is merely trying to cover up behavior that would make them look bad even though it is far from treasonous. Why would a rape victim lie about how much they drank? Imagine if they were questioned for hours and hours multiple times... Trumps team could be guilty. Muellers report should be revealing.

1) Trump and his associates are a pack of grifters. No doubt they are unsavory and Manafort among others were tied to Ukraine and a slew of miscreants. I agree our institutions are EF'ed up...because instituations' main job is protecting those in power. The thing is, it's all we got at this point...and the ideals of democracy, even if thin.

As expected, the closure of the Mueller investigation has only resulted in more partisan bickering, and that's before we even know what his conclusions are.

I don't blame Mueller. He's delivered enough valid indictments to prove he wasn't wasting anyone's time. But I also never expected him to be the guy who brought a Trump down single-handedly. The way to beat Trump is to vote him out. That's the next step. The first step (voting in an opposition Congress that will actually check his power) is already done.

I start from the premise that most successful politicians probably have very ugly skeletons in their closet. I always thought Obama must be pretty clean because I would imagine the Koch Brothers, the Mercers and others must have spent millions scouring the sewers and beating the bushes and what they ended up putting forth to discredit him was unimpressive.
