It's all gutless people in golf, except when they want to make sure the "right" people belong to their club right? Are you going to skip playing courses that host LIV tournaments?
Explain to me why it is that LIV golfers were allowed to play this weekend, or, for that matter at the Masters?

but here's the deal, cal football & the athletic dept are outta time, either there are transformational changes/victories this fall or it's over...shocky will be done with this monster thread, there's a lotta world to see

who are the 2 most important figures that will shape the destiny of cal football?

one is lance cooper who is building (via the tireless work of kevin kennedy) a potential 8+ victory (and 10 wins is not outta reach) 2024 roster with his nil donations...can't imagine he's gonna do this again in 2025 if the bears don't win BIG this fall


the other individual is chancellor rich lyons, his above plan won't work if there's no longer alums visiting berkeley for fall gamedays to rekindle their luv for the #1 ranked public university in the world...the donations/endowments he's referencing with the state of california's increasing budget deficit reducing funding for the uc system is contingent upon collecting the non binding pledges/legacy gifts (which shocky is considering for the time he's deader than a doorknob)

so either rich is gonna replace the con artist (and his #2 in charge worthless bureaucrat jennifer simon-o'neil) utilizing the mckeever independent legal investigation document in the very near future or cal athletics will continue heading on its current course straight into the impending financial tsunami and there will no longer be cal football & basketball as we know it

^^ mb, shocky has played every course that has ever hosted a liv golf tournament, they are all architecturally mediocre (or worser) with the exception of valderrama in southern spain (marbella would be a wonderful coastal community to live in, it's got a nobu plus it's a short ferry ride to casablanca)

a liv/pga merger is not likely with senator richard bluementhal's congressional committee charged with protecting american security interests abroad unlikely to approve such a deal that involves sport washing by the 9/11 financed terrorists

fyi, augusta national is NOT in shocky's top 10 courses in the world, it's the best golf experience with the overnight stays at the butler cabins but it's strayed away from it's alistar mckenzie authentic minimalalist roots with the artificial tom fazio ruinavation work thru the years turning it into a kinda botox disfigurement (why not just age gracefully?) of the georgia natural beauty

mb, multiple liv golfers live in north scottsdale including rahm, jones, perez & casey and have been friendly with me in the past with quick conversations/fistbumps at the area's golf clubs but shocky got no respect anymore for any of them & basically ignores them at this point

blumenthal's senate subcommittee is intended to protect the united states from hostile foreign investments such as saudi arabia's pif (public investment fund) in american companies that would threaten/compromise our nation's national security...pro golfers are independent contractors that are free to accept 9/11 terrorist blood money

I don't care if Augusta National is the 200th best course in the world. The Masters allows LIV players. The US Open allows LIV players. So they aren't accepting blood money? They stop allowing LIV players and that doesn't change the whole dynamic?

The turning point was Augusta National deciding they would accept LIV players. That opened the door for Rahm, for example, to go to LIV, because he has a lifetime exemption to the Masters, and if you're in the Masters, you're part of the pro golf world, even if you're not on the PGA Tour. Truthfully, the only players that IMHO are relevant from Liv at this point are Bryson D., Koepka, Rahm and Cameron Smith. Everyone else over there, including Phil Mickelson, is basically just along for the ride. Of those three, it appears to me that Bryson, Koepka and Rahm chose to take a guaranteed payday because of concern about injuries, Koepka might not have gone had he known he would return to health. I think Smith took it because he really wanted to play more events closer to home in Australia.
