82, pretty sure u mentioned that u didn't graduate from berkeley, did this recently change??

fyi, cal like academically mediocre schools like texas tech also offers nil payments so ur math is wildly inaccurate...also a berkeley degree can be worth tens of millions of dollars over a lifetime, a texas tech degree will set u up for the buc-ee's supervisor program working weekends & all holidays (and remember all employees are forbidden to have any phones on their body while working during their shifts)

so ur life/financial/career advice is kinda worthless, got it??

look if u & cnhth just wanna be negative/depressed with no solutions all the time that's ur choice but the cal's monster class thread is NOT a free methadone clinic for the emotionally jittery/unstable to shoot up

fun fact: one of the greatest gifts berkeley has given me in life is that in winning situations shocky is 100% exuberant & emotionally available for celebrating with crazy as **** energy but in challenging situations (like the current state of affairs with the 6-7 cal football program with a failing s&c program) then shocky goes into a non emo problem solving mode

all we all got a choice every morning, do we wanna be happy or sad as ****, who r u??
What did you think 82grad in my screen name meant?

82, well u might be rite (but ur not) & in any case if current cal dancer/cheer coach chelsea toler decides to head to westwood too, then doms aka the little kids princess ballet bad azz should be asked to return to berkeley to assist the recruiting efforts & also for the greater good of planet earth or something

would not be a bad thing for the cal spirit team moves be a little less vanilla eloise at the plaza & more doms choreographed kaboom kaboom shakaboom ****!!

if this happens shocky might even pass on coach christy's pending conditional offer (subject to transcripts confirmation of shocky's 3.92 berkeley gpa & gold phi beta kappa key) to become a wake forest assistant dance/cheer coach!!

yeah shocky got an insightful/productive gameplan (thx to his unchecked ocd issues!!) for ******* everything!!

fun fact: shocky likes flawed (as long as ur not so broken that u can't express love) people/doggy dogs like himself (it's not his fault he's good looking in a quick twitch +1 athletic lean feral yoga boy sorta way)!!

the university of california, berkeley=#1 ranked public university on planet earth (for those that r crazy as **** with a screw or 2 loose & that think reality is overrated)

nick promised me that both he & bryan r not gonna scheme/playcall their ELITE cali running backs into unproductive interior line runs for 1-2 yards over and over and over and over while the candy azz soft fragile wideouts stand around not BLOCKING like lazy azz male strippers or something

yeah these guys can do this **** with NO EFFORT!!

Don't really know what these guys will make in NIL but say this kid gets $300,000 in the 4 years. 30 years in the S&P could get him 3 million. My Cal degree didn't get me that. Go transfer kids.

I'm calling bs on this. As a [recently] retired civil servant [in San Francisco, granted] who DOES NOT hold a highly esteemed degree from Cal, i earned more than $4M over my 25 yr career prior to retiring in June of 2023. And that was only from salary earnings. My maxed out 457 added an additional 7 figures. So IMAGINE (although I suspect that most of you have no need to just "imagine") what economic wonders will come with the benefit of a Cal degree for these young men who are discarding that very available 'bird-in-the-hand' for immediate, short-term financial gratification via the transfer portal.

staitlaw, that's possible, all them high gpa tall white surfing looking guys kinda all look the same to me

yeah max, trond & jack endries all kinda look like future wealth management ceos living at tiburon point taking the ferry across the bay a couple of times a week to check on the office/work out at the olympic club's downtown facility before entertaining clients on the o club's lake (skilled golfers) or ocean (chops)

^^ agreed pitts with ur financial analysis, the difference between a cal nil deal & a texas tech nil deal for the next 3 years is not that significant (the delta is NOT "$300,000 " a year) or potentially even non existent

the reality of the situation is that when josiah is 30 years old the nil dollars will likely be all gone but then martin gotta work for the next couple of decades with a lousy azz degree at a time when a lotta cal, stanford & Iiy league grads are getting MINTED

the truth is that guys from lower socioeconomic communities often can't really comprehend the value net worth of ELITE educations because they lack the cal, stanford & ivy league potential role models living in their neighborhoods telling them how this **** works in the real world

so shocky is tryna fill that void

ur welcome

BS on what? I just plugged 300000 into a financial calculator. I have a BA from Cal. I didn't make 3 million. I made less but putting as much as I could into a 401k over 30 years got me to 2 million which goes far enough in Bay Point. What are you disputing? My dropout BIL from WSU just retired as CMO of Nordstrom. He has a lot more than me. What are you calling BS on? Lots of ways to earn money and gain happiness. Can't believe people at Cal don't understand this. I'm all for a great kid going to Cal but there are many roads.

If you earn [less than] $200,000/yr for 25 yrs that alone would be $5M. Maxing out my 457 over 25 yrs (including the IRS Special Catchup provision for employees over 50, which allows employees over 50 to now contribute $40,000/yr to the 457) yielded $1.2M. For most of my career, following my first promotion in 2006, I was able to routinely earn an average of, approximately, $190,000/yr - some years would be more, some less, depending on what, or how much i was willing to take on. Maybe your numbers are different somehow. But it was easily more than $4M over 25 years. Deferred compensation savings plans are more about how much an employee is willing to sacrifice in the present toward a pre-established retirement goal. Additionally, my government defined benefit retirement plan + social security retirement benefit combined pays another $115,000/yr. But none of that trumps what I would have been able to earn, or my current retirement income and savings, than if I had earned a degree from Cal. I'm not confused about that.

I only called bs on your proposition that "$300,000 in 4 years plus $3 million from 30 years in the S&P" is more valuable, or profitable, than a Cal degree. I just don't happen to share that opinion.

jaydn ott's reaction to today's OFFICIAL announcement that shocky has been hired as an offensive analyst/substitute yoga teacher instead of leidy:

coach shocky: we gonna run PITCHOUTS on the edges in wide open space & the wide receivers will violently BLOCK downfield instead of standing around like fragile candy azz soft male strippers

coach leidy: clothes r for losers!!...how many points is a field goal??

Well Tulane starting QB Darian Mensah will be the Duke QB. He threw for over 2700 yds this season for the Green Wave. He will be a RS Soph and is a top 10 transfer QB in every ratings list.

Fun facts for Mensah. He went to St Josephs HS in Santa Maria,Ca. He was not highly recruited out of HS. He carried at 3.5 HS GPA and is quite unlikely to be flipping the bird to his coaches after throwing a TD as Murphy did.

Murphy is a talented player. But Duke picked up a very nice player from the portal.

KAAABBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

new mexico transfer left tackle 6'4" 335 lbs lajuan owens is gonna reuinite with his former o-line coach famika anae in berkeley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...he's from keller texas & attended fossil ridge hs

owens spent his 1st collegiate season at tulane redshirting before starting at the critical qb's blindside left tackle in albuquerque last season for arguably the most productive offensive line in college football, he got 3 years of remaining eligibility...no more of that la bowl bull**** when the bears can't punch it in from a yard out for a touchdown, bruce snyder & jeff tedford would 100% approve of this recruitment

lajuan is NOT a dumb azz, he got a 3.2 gpa & wuz majoring in liberal arts & integrated studies at new mexico

cal's monster offensive line is gonna rechart the trajectory of the cal football program with SIZE & VIOLENCE in pounding the rock!!

dumb azz scheduling: ROAD game against a mid major with an ELITE qb1 to open the 2025 season#
I think given his best offer was Oregon State, most p4 teams do not consider him elite (Duke pushed him out and asked him to take a pay cut)

joego, hear wut ur saying, shocky's take on maalik is that he's an extremely intelligent (duke acceptance) & highly skilled (almost 3000 yards/26 touchdowns passing) for the blue devils last season but agreed that he's kinda a head case too

bad attitude players wear out their welcomes over time/the course of a season, when the bears play the beavers in august of 2025 in corvallis it's extremely unlikely that murphy will have worn out his welcome by then...the bears d is gonna get the beavs best offensive effort of the season, this will be a very dangerous season opener for cal against a talented qb1 & 1000+ yard returning rb1 hankerson

giving a west coast mid major a home game (the noise at reser stadium is gonna be deafening with a sold out pac 2 bitter hostile crowd with the chainsaw sounds) wuz ******* dumb (only mitigated by shocky's pre gameday roadie to nearby bandon dunes with slim wadie)!!

cal's monster class recruiting update:

with the commitment of safety fresno state's julian neal to stanford, the most FUN defensive back coaches in the nation coach brown & coach watson are now focused on targeting washington safety transfer 6'4" 191 lbs tristan dunn from drizzly azz sumner washington, he got 2 years of remaining eligibility

tristan is NOT a dumb azz, despite a barely 3.0 gpa in hs due to not taking reading books & **** seriously, he's now all grown up (mentally limitless with ambition) & been an all pac 12 academic honoree

the university of california, berkeley=#1 ranked public university in the WORLD (including puget sound & unhealthy/overpriced starbucks)
