Peterson also matriculated and graduated players. At Udub as a head coach, he had the highest APR in Division 1. The APR rate at B State went from 58% when he took over to 85% his last season. This used to be a factor in recruiting. When was the last time you heard a P4 head coach (as opposed to Shocky) discuss academic success?

wifey, the monster can tell u with 100% confidence that when shocky wuz the men's basketball 1st general manager back during the cal's monster class era that both cuonzo martin & mike montgomery focused on gpas on the aau/high school recruiting circuit & then emphasized the attainment of graduating with berkeley degrees

^ fun fact: 5 of the above 7 mcdonald all americans wuz relentlessly recruited by the monster in conjunction with the staff & 3 wuz cal commits

but yeah a lotta coaches/recruiting personnel & dumb azz prospects just close their eyes/put their heads in the sand these days in today's highly competitive global economy that unremorsefully favors cal, stanford & ivy league grads while discarding disposable uneducated/undereducated low gpa dumb azzs with worthless degrees that are gonna be working nite shift security at the chandler fashion square mall when they're 30 years old & basically ******

don't be a ******* dumb azz (life after football/basketball is not pretty if ur dumb as a rock)#

minnesota gophers offense scouting report:

when the gophs burrow their way to the left coast on saturday september 13th in a marquee acc vs big 10 battle they will be starting the worst offensive line in power 4 football along with ucla (averaged an anemic 3.07 yards per rush in 2024 with no new infusion of elite talent, the odds of the jet getting seriously injured next season are 50/50)

minnesota will be starting 5 new (at different positions) trench workers this fall to a line that averaged a disappointing 3.72 yards per rush in 2024 despite a 2nd round nfl draft selection to houston (aireontae ersery), a free agent signed by green bay (tyler cooper), a ohio state transfer out (phillips daniels), a northwestern transfer out (martes lewis) & graduation (quinn carroll & jackson hunter) and the new o-line did not stand out during 2025 spring ball

rb1 darius taylor rushed for 986 yards in 2024 but will be challenged to replicate that production with fewer holes to daylight & a brand new qb1 to replace all big 10 max brosmer

the bears d under the new shared defensive coordinator scheme gotta opportunity to dial up the pressure from the 1st series to stress a patchwork offensive line & an inexperienced qb that will likely not be savvy enough yet to audible his way outta harm's way

football is a violent sport (let's FUMIGATE the gophs qb1 & rb1 with PRESSURE)#

This is game is truly important. We have to show we can handedly beat a B1G squad. The case for Cal in the next realignment in part depends on this. There is no way B1G would rather have Minnesota than Cal in the long run.

econ, agreed that the minnesota game is important for a multitude of reasons...large crowd attendances creating hostile home field advantages at memorial stadium will be a factor (as will winning a lotta games including major bowl games) in the next round of conference realignment & that's why lyons passively allowing the non innovative ****tards of knowlton, jenny (just a really bad human being, her role enabling mckeever wuz unconscionably criminal) & markeisha (the queen of tarp management/ignoring all emails) to not market/sell tixs on gamedays is damaging both the cal football & basketball programs

and no shocky don't really think ron got the key to the fb program, otherwise the simple act of inviting all students for FREE would already be announced, rivera is just one voice in a bureaucratic jungle of non revenue sports advocates

2025 truist championship at philadelphia cricket: 3rd round update

max homa (70, tied for 16th): after a prolonged two way miss driver slump, max is tied for 3rd this week in driving accuracy (71%) which bodes well for next week's 2025 pga championship at quail hollow (where homa won an exciting pga tournament battling down the stretch vs rory)...max is 3 over par on his opening holes this week, would be nice to start strong tomorrow on the 1st hole, let's ******* go, max!!

collin morikawa (72, tied for 26th): round got away from collin when he under clubbed on the hurting right to left wind par 3 16th hole & he rinsed his cut tee ball into the fronting fast moving stream for a double bogey 5...morikawa is on point in all phases of his game except his sand play which has been substandard since harbor town

ben an (68, tied for 29th): despite not birdieing either of the par 5s, ben & his elite clubhead speed made a move up the leaderboard with a consecutive hat trick of birds on the back nine!!

michael kim (withdrew after 12 holes): as noted here earlier this week, michael is still not 100% with his tricky back injury...yoga/meditation & miso soup (with extra tofu) are the solutions to an injury free body that got flexible movement/positive mental health!!

I asked AI who was the last Cal player to record double digit sacks and the response was….

It's difficult to definitively pinpoint the exact last Cal football player to record double-digit sacks without access to comprehensive historical data. However, based on information available, it is highly likely that the player in question was not a player in the last few seasons as those seasons have not seen many double-digit sack records at all.

_________________________________________________________________________

enjoyed a lovely dinner at the intimate & charming frascati's tonite on russian hill with family & friends on a beautifully clear fall evening in san francisco after a fun football gameday in berkeley

https://instagr.am/p/BYg9b1WARg4
after dinner while we were strolling thru little italy in north beach i wandered off by myself to check out an old lady of an undeterminable ethnic background methodically checking the street's garbage cans for recyclable cans & bottles

i say hello, she smiles & keeps working

so mr world traveler says hello in a dozen+ languages, she smiles & keeps working

so i pick up a few cans in the gutter, crush them with the heel of my dress shoes & put them in her shopping cart, she smiles & keeps working

i'm done talking (still hoarse from the game this afternoon at memorial) so we just quietly work together collecting cans & bottles...our pace develops a cadence & rhythm of two hearts working together

shay & taylor drift over to see what their crazy azz dad is doing now & then they start helping her too, the old lady still hasn't said anything...the only sounds are of cans being crushed, seagulls squawking & a police siren in the distance

finally it's time to leave so i give her all my cash in my pockets (just a little south of $1,000), she barely looks at the money & is instead eyeing my green plastic perrier bottle in my jacket...so i give her that bottle too...she smiles broadly now & says something in a language i don't understand

as we are leaving, i take one final look back over my shoulder to see if the old lady is gonna take her cash home & call it a night

nope, she is still working

her indefatigable & quietly stoic work ethic reminds me of mothers everywhere who tirelessly work to support & keep their families together...she is my mom, your mom, ivan rabb's mom, jaylen brown's mom, oscar frayer's mom, dwight tarwater's mom, she is everyone's mom

i love you, mom

-your mama's boy

my poly tiger moms overcame mind boggling obstacles (always with a smile on her face) to become a 1st generation college berkeley grad (she asked me daily my current gpa back in the day) from a poor as **** san francisco family (they had no money for bears game, my moms would walk for FREE their doggy dog on ocean beach for FUN) & later the largest drug dealer in northern california (ok, the chief director of pharmacy for kaiser permanente)!!

love you, moms!!

happy mother's day#

the jet's moms javona no longer being able to make a simple drive to memorial stadium on fall gamedays to celebrate her remarkable son's achievements with family & friends (now it's gonna be expensive flights, rental cars, hotels & dog food meals in la)=priceless

yeah jaivian is gonna tryna run behind the worst offensive line among the power 4 conference teams, honestly think it's 50/50 that the jet is gonna get injured during 2025 getting violently pounded every game

the grass is not always greener across the street (sometimes it's just ******* synthetic astroturf)#

yeah drove down the 101 from north scottsdale to tempe today at the speed of light to check out the softball team's 1st day out for the 2025 season

beautiful weather in the low 70s as asu's facility which is framed by palm trees shimmering in the outfield, during the 1st game warm ups the bears stood in front of the dugout standing on 10 paws yelling FUN cheers led by this year team's emotional leader kaylee pond who is 100 hundo the person you would want riding shotgun next to you on a cross country drive to every buc-ee's in this beautiful country!!

starting line ups: all american shortstop acacia anders is out with messed up ribs which resulted in potential all acc home run slugger elon butler moving from 2nd base to ss and impressive true freshman mia phillips (who runs the bases with the electric speed of desean jackson returning punts at memorial stadium) starting at 2nd base

pitching: this team's 2025 campaign is gonna be determined by the pitching, this team is gonna score a lotta runs & the defense is solid with closing speed in the outfield...anna reimers looks incredibly fit kinda like an olympics skiing cross country gold medalist from a nordic country & after that it's gonna be a wide open competition...annabel tepperson is the early leader for the #2 role pitching from ahead of the count most of the time, freshman miranda de nava notched 7 strikeouts in closing out the 1st game after a jittery welcome to d1 softball, ashanti mcdade brings heat (gotta work on throwing more strikes) & ryann orange got a high upside

home runs: this team will lead the acc & potentially even the nation in home runs, it's an exciting fireworks offense to watch led by hitting coach brandon telesco...lagi quiroga got elite bat speed & led off the 1st game with a high ball to left field that kept soaring over the fence, impressive true freshman mia phillips followed her with a drilled homer to left field & who wuz so pumped up she rounded the bases in around 10 seconds, my favorite player alyssa "the ponytail" herrera (her moms is a school teacher) did her patented happy dance after her dinger, team leader mika lee continues her remarkable ascent as an improving player every season & kaylee pond's pumped up kicks home run trot!!

3rd base coaching: coach chelsea spencer is a remarkable head coach that has built a family 1st culture of young ladies that are academically ambitious & that care about each other but at the same time chelsea is still running the bears outta innings with her reckless & unsuccessful decisions to advance runners including asking her catcher to steal & being thrown out by 5 feet...honestly she should consider coaching 1st base, her poor decisions (the bears needed runners not an extra base) coupled with some not clean fielding/ball handling (lack of awareness of a runner heading to home plate) & an miscalculated cut off relay throw to home plate wuz key factors in the 2nd game loss to maryland

randi roelling: the arrogant georgia transfer & her overly involved little league dad's departure is a loss in the talent department but a plus for this year's team chemistry...this is kinda like mendoza & his sorry azz dad, good luck with nando & roelling's kinda worthless degrees when competing with berkeley & stanford grads in the highly competitive global economy that favors the well educated when they are 30 years old

saturday's doubleheader: early morning game with utah to be followed by a rematch with maryland, shocky is gonna catch the utes game before departing to handle his coaching duties with michael kim at the phoenix open in the former bears quest to win his 2nd pga tournament title

https://instagr.am/p/DJWvyecpBZl
2025 ncca selection sunday:

CONGRATS to them bears (35-19) on making the tournament again, they will be heading to norman next weekend for the 4 team regional hosted by oklahoma (44-7) & play omaha (39-11) on friday

on the one hand they bears hit a lotta home runs (60) this season & got the best bench team spirit in college softball, huge kudos to coach spencer & kaylee pond for making that happen!!...next season tianna bell (15 home runs), lagi quiroga (11 home runs) & elon butler (10 home runs) will be joined by alyssa herrera (hopefully 100% healthy), blueshirting kendall todd & incoming long beach poly 3rd base polynesian slugger emoni lam "e-money" sam as the most dangerous power team in the acc (hitting coach brandon telesco is an elite developer of talent)!!

on the other hand, they got the worst 3rd base coach in softball at any level, the bears probably had 150+ baserunners thrown out this season, it's so bad it's almost comical kinda like watching the bad news bears...they also finished last the in the acc in fielding percentage, they wuz an error prone porous defense (54 errors plus an equal # of misplaced balls) that will lose it's best 2 defenders (acacia anders & mika lee) next season, presumably +1 athletic mia phillips will move from 2b to ss next season...and a pitching rotation that sometimes struggled to pitch from ahead in the count, miranda de nava will head into next season as the ace

while it's disappointing that's there still no dedicated basketball practice facility in berkeley, shocky is glad the softball team is getting a new facility so they can host future ncca tournaments

go bears (need to play smart & tough!!)#

2025 ncca men's golf regional tournament at montreux: 1st round update (round not completed)

after a 6 hour delay due to high winds (38 mph gusts) in the sierra nevada mountains, the bears did not control their ball flight trajectories on their shotgun start opening holes (an unreal combined 10 over par): one par, two bogeys, a triple bogey (7 on a par 4) & a quintuple bogey (10 on a par 5)

apparently the bears don't got no tokens for the practice range ball dispenser & thus played their opening holes without any warm ups and/or mulligans, ay caramba

result: the bears are in 13th place outta 14 teams (top 5 teams advance to the ncca finals at la costa which is almost next door to shocky's beloved legoland) when play resumes tomorrow morning

san diego state aztecs offense scouting report:

when them california golden bears travel to legoland on saturday september 20th to snapdragon stadium it's gonna be facing an untested aztecs offense that lost it's 3 top skill playmakers this offseason

qb1: danny o'neil (2181 passing yard & 12 tds) transferred to wisconsin
rb1: marquez cooper (1274 rushing yards) graduated, 2nd leading rusher wuz danny o'neil with 93 yards
wr1: louis brown (37 catches for 681 yards) transferred to baylor

the mediocre at best o-line returns 3 starters

qb1 this fall will be 6'5" michigan transfer jayden denegal who got physical tools but minimal experience kinda like the bears current qb1 devin brown

like the minnesota game, cal's new defensive play callers gotta opportunity to bring the heat from the 1st series to violently rattle an inexperienced qb1 that probably isn't savvy enough yet to audible outta harm's way
