Upcoming Auburn game feels like the Texas games with the disrespect of Cal. Tennessee was different. Sure would be fun to see our Defense shut them down the first half giving the new Offense some breathing room and opportunity to get into rhythm. We have talent!!
Tennessee did reverse psychology. Fulmer went on how great Cal was and that they needed every fan to show up and make noise. They had their house rocking and their players amped.

Cooties. Also, wokeism might be contagious. Open carry should be allowed as a way to welcome our friends.

Wokeism (if by that you mean its original meaning of awareness of social injustice and questioning the dominant paradigm) is contagious for thinking individuals. As we grow up we become aware

From that point of view Abraham Lincoln became woke when he saw enslaved individuals being beaten and sold on his journey down the Mississippi to New Orleans.

thank you for that analysis, and reminder to folks that being woke is actually a matter of pride, it is about learning, a maturing intellect and increasing awareness.

Wokeism can be defined as homeless students protesting the school for building much needed student housing on their own property at People's Park.

I invite all Auburn fans to visit our lovely People's Park while you're here. Apparently, we have some rare, native species of plants flourishing there.

Correct, I was being sarcastic. A better option would be to take a hike into the hills for a spectacular view of the S.F. Bay and campus if you have the time.

Gonna have some time to kill. Get in Friday around 2 and we are staying downtown Berkley. Only thing I want to do is see the Bridge just to say ive seen it. Might go to the Giants game that night.

Make sure to see both sides of the bridge from Fort Point at the south and the battery lookout on the other side. Bring a jacket to the Giants game. If you have time to kill on gameday, take the elevator to the top of Sather Tower on campus for spectacular views, you can't miss it.

being woke is being educated, knowing systems of oppression, being socially conscious. that often translates into some sort of praxis that conveys that level of knowledge. your fragility over a group of studens protesting doesnt define what being woke is. I am woke, and I found the tree sits protests stopping the stadium nonsensical, as is anyone protesting a parking lot turned park turned student housing. like I said, being woke is about being educated, and being socially conscious, and those peoples park protests lack the educated part.

Future ultra woke Cal students will demand the university rename itself and the city and will be socially conscious enough to ask the state to return the stolen land back to indigenous peoples. By then, all instruction will be 100% online conducted by AI platforms.

Wokeism is nothing more than agreeing with, and accepting, a warmed-over, Marxist-Leninist view of the world with an almost religious fervor that rivals that of a recently converted Evangelical on Sunday morning. It accepts no disagreement; it allows no discussion except on points where both sides already 100% agree and dismisses any opposition as nothing more than an extreme moral failing on the part of its proponent.

Thanks for that mini-analysis CNHTH; you seem to know quite a lot about the personnel, coaches and schemes of both teams. Living in a far-off land and relegated to watching YouTube highlight reels after games as I am, my knowledge is limited. However, I would give a ton of weight to the impact of the late start-time. On a time/location-neutral field (not knowing as much about the teams as you do), I might give a slight edge to Auburn based purely on recent years' performances, fan base/backer passion and the results of our respective first games. However, even setting aside home field advantage and Auburn's having to cross time zones, the scheduling of this game for night-time PST is HUGE for the Bears. I expect Auburn to tire rapidly in the 4th quarter when it is past their bedtimes and give us something like 2-1 odds (a 67% chance) to win. Internal clocks are a b****.

Separately, it's great to see the Auburn supporters here and friendly banter among both sets of fans.

why are you so hurt by people being intelligent, and educated about systems of oppression?

Being woke means you know this is all stolen Native land and that mass genocide was committed by colonizers in order to steal the land. Being woke doesn't mean you think that stolen land will magically return to the hands of the Native tribes or that meaningless marches and rallies with signs will change anything. Whatever complaint you have about the politics of intelligent educated students gets undermined by your weird attempt at inventing the meaning of the word woke to fit your personal opinions.

Like others have said, bring a jacket. And if you wear hats, hold on because it could fly off the bridge. But you should have enough time to buy a new Cal hat at the Student Store before the game.
