You do know I'm talking about Waller who they have rated above White BTW.
Wink wink, say NO MORE.

...possible to have two quarterbacks from the Trinity League? One from Mater Dei (Forrest) and another possible one from Servite (Waller)? Rival schools? Who would have guessed? That would be great news. Both solid, competitive programs that compete each year for state.

I don't care about who we DON'T get. Only care about who we get in February and then how they do over the next 4 to 5 years. Not worried about not getting White. But Cal needs to take a QB in this class, and I'd be stunned if they don't. I really like Rubenzer as a prospect, but that is what he is. I'm not sure where people are getting this sure thing status with him. No one is a sure thing.
Boehm is not a viable every down QB and it doesn't appear he will become one. That leaves you with Goff, and two unproven guys in Rubenzer, and Forrest after next year. That is not enough.

Looks like we offered two QBs today one for 2015 and one for 2016.
With Goff it doesnt matter who comes in at QB, because he is going to set records the next 3 years.
We need OL, DL, S, and everything else is gravy

Apparently ASU-Barrett Honor College sealed the deal.....
"To be honest, going into that first visit, that was my main question mark was how are their academics," he said. "I had no idea they have the Barrett Honors College. When I got exposed to that, I met with Mark Jacobs, the dean, and I thought that was huge. That Barrett Honors College gives you the degree that can compete with those higher education schools."
Funny....I never heard of them either....that should tell you something.

Dude, I wasn't even criticizing Dykes. Dykes will sign a QB. I was disagreeing with the notion that he won't or that we don't need to. I'm not going to criticize the coach's recruiting 9 months before LOI day.
And if I was to criticize Dykes, Maynard and Tedford would be irrelevant to the question. I don't understand why you keep trying to prop Dykes by comparing him to Tedford when:
1. Tedford's worst season was substantially better than Dykes only season (so yeah, if those are my only two choices, I'll take Tedford)
2. It is irrelevant to the question of whether Dykes is good enough.
3. Tedford was fired because his results were unacceptable. If you want Dykes to have the same fate, fine.

The thing I said from the beginning is if White didn't end up at Cal it would be a depth chart decision.
If the depth charts were reversed. pretty certain he'd be a Bear.

MB, let me ask you head to head, how do Rubenzer and White compare. I know they are of different years, but what I have seen of Rubenzer, I would not care as much about the loss of White were Rubenzer rated better. My thinking is back up for Goff if injured, or if Goff leaves early.
MoragaBear;842312141 said:
They're two totally different quarterbacks.
I wouldn't pay any attention to Rubenzer's rating outside of his rating and performance at the Elite 11, where he performed very well and was rated in the top ten.
The only reason Rubenzer wasn't rated higher is because he's 5'11.5 and recruiting services can't get beyond projecting future potential limitations because of height.
When you win state championships, complete 72% of your career passes and set a national record, compile a crazy 63 td to 3 int td, run well and are tough and a good leader, you're a VERY good quarterback.
If Goff is lost next year for a decent amount of the season, the likelihood would be high of him taking over as a frosh.

thanks mb. What i was worried about was, with the excitement on rosen and then white, that we looked at rubenzer as a 'tweener, such that he would hold bench between two very good qbs, and that was not my understanding when we recruited him. So any comparison in quality is helpful to know that we are backed up in case of ????
I had the sense, that if goff did not have the years pac 12 experience behind him that rubenzer would be a threat right off the bat. Then, with this years recruitment i began losing that sense.
