Your comment on the RBs is a good one. Did Dancy get a single touch? Is there some sort of purposeful deception on the part of our staff or are we not as deep as has been advertised?

Bear should have won this abysmal showing 38-10. This will be another long season.

Don't know if this was on the NC touchdown -
but it was one of the most obvious offensive
pass interferences I have ever seen. First, the
receiver grabs Bynum and spins him around.
Then Bynum recovers so the receiver puts both
hands on Bynum's shoulders and leverages himself
up for the catch. Not one, but two clear offensive
pass interferences. I thought the officials were just
like the announcers - ACC honks.

***....had Cal -7.5 and it looked sealed. UNC should have never come that close. That was seriously the worst offensive performance I have seen in a while. Bowers was terrible. Garbers has some legs, but no accuracy. It could be a long season.

That's one of the most bizarre Cal games I've seen in a long time. I have no idea what to make of it.

For some reason this game reminded me of the Portland state game in Sonny's first year.

This o line is as bad this year as last. They cannot get a critical 3rd and short running the ball, no push, no muscle. Running game isn't going anywhere in conference due to weak o line just like last year. If Laird gets hurt we're in trouble as no one else will have any experience but the holes won't be there anyway. Really disappointing after all the talk about experience, # of starts, etc.

Never should have come down to the final minute and getting saved by a questionable call on the onside kick. They needed to put it away. Rotating 3 QB's? Wow! What is this going to look like at Provo?

The 3 QB thing is a smokescreen to distract opponents from noticing that Bowers has really beefed up and can easily complete long balls now. Shhhh.

Hope you are right. The performance today seemed a bit toned down, but IDK. Guess we will see. Did not like the 4th Q at all. Bad, bad performance IMHO

Same. We were clearly well in control for 3 quarters. Not sure how much that 4th quarter was us sucking and how much was us playing conservative/soft to limit big plays and burn the clock (UNC certainly obliged with a lot of runs up the middle).

In other news, I see Sonny and SMU are lighting up North Texas for 24 yards total offense and a 17-0 deficit with about 5 minutes left in the second quarter.

Play 3 QB's but hardly any RB's gets touches besides the starter Laird?

Overall depth is not there yet. Need more reps and recruiting needs to pick it up a couple of notches as the talent at skill positions is sorely lacking, especially on offense.

This team will need to overachieve again just to have a shot to get to 6-7 wins..
And Laird will not survive an entire season carrying the rock 25-35 times a game.

Offensively Cal looked listless and sloppy, Defensively they looked good for three quarters but the 4th lost a lot of of rhythm.
Happy for the win no question but it's major things they have to clean up. A positive thing I took from this game is that that they would've lost a game like this last year.

They are lucky they didn't lose it today.

Offensive play calling was just that--offensive. QB(s) need to get rid of the ball quicker. Hudson needs to catch the ball. Laird needs to stop stutter stepping when he has a lane and just run. Weaver was everywhere. Secondary played great!!! Goode keeps making big plays!

Not changing up the personnel more was strange to me. Laird is great and all, but other guys can get the ball on first down too. We can use him as a decoy sometimes.
