How do you know that with only seeing a few plays from Gabers and McIlwain each?

what i want to know is why bowers constantly just runs into defenders when under pressure. it's like maybe he has a vision problem or something. maybe cataracts.

Bowers just stares down passing to Noa, Wharton and Hudson.
Coach Baldwin will have to scheme this up differently. Or play Garbers more.
Best I have seen the Defense play since 2006. DB's look super solid- right technique, positioning. Big props to Coach Alexander! "Coffee him up" Obviously the hype on Goode and Z. Johnson was on point. Weaver is making a ton of plays.

He played in the first half and wasn't good. What do you expect from him now? "Not Bowers"?

I'm wondering why everyone thought the OL was going to be a strength. The OL last season was pretty bad. So what if they had a nice camp, that means nothing. How many teams have great camps and lousy season? Pretty much all the bad teams. Everyone looks great in camp.

O Linemen tend to take longer to develop than other players at the college level. It's why you don't see a ton of true freshman on an oline anywhere. We have a really senior line that wasn't all that bad before, so you'd expect to see something good out of them.

So we have no qb?

For sure! And then the false start/offsides kills the drive. Nice D indeed.

NC now 0-10 on Third Down conversions. Sadly, Cal is 1-11 so we aren't doing all that much better so far.

We need to get much better at identifying and using the weaknesses in the defense. Right now we seem to be playing right into the strength of the NC defense, which is their dominant DL.

I'm not understanding why we are switching mid drive with the QBs.

Baldwin can't seem to get that NC is selling out to stop the inside run. He really, really needs to go with screens, sweeps and other plays that catch the defense crowding the OL.

I would bet it is because the coaches are telling the QBs that no one has yet won the position.

Every time mcilwain has come in, he's just handed it off. Not even an option look.
