Crystal ball to Cal by two "analysts". Not sure if that means anything. The analysts really don't like to be wrong though, so that may say something.

Athletic success, especially is tourney and bowl games are memories that last a life time and are invaluable. Choosing unique memories over a cal education that puts you in place to get a good 9-5 may not be that bad of a decision.

6956, it's my understanding that the silverado institute for the clinically depressed still got summer openings in their advanced "wellness" in house residence stays, ok?

good luck with that

it's probably never occurred to you that brenley & tyson have had conversations re: the differential in the value of college educations (millions of dollars) in planning a future & that a kinda worthless kansas degree only sets you up for the night shift supervisor job at the 7-11 on k avenue

What has occurred to me is the overwhelming number of young college players that make the decisions that favor athletic success or program success over the clear path that a Cal education can provide. Just this past season we have seen players in multiple programs leave Cal to go elsewhere in pursuit of athletic success without a Cal degree.

When you throw NIL $$ into the equation it makes the decision making process even more convoluted. We see evidence daily that players choose athletic success over education time and time again.

Young people with professional dreams often get their head turned by money and wins and full house gyms over a 40 year decision.

Needless to say, all Cal Athletes aren't leaving Haas, The School of Engineering, or other Sciences. Do we all, or most of us, wave our Cal degree proudly? Sure...but somehow other schools graduate people, have people end up leading significant companies across the country, manage to get significant contributions to their Athletic Departments, buy season tickets in quantities that we can only fantasize about, and, last but not least, somehow get notable contributions to NIL.
I know I will now have my integrity questioned here for saying such things, but I think every athlete coming and going have their own personal reasons for doing so. And not all are chasing the pros, but rather a chance to continue playing a sport they love while having someone else paying for their education. They haven't necessarily ruined their "40 year decision" or a chance at millions....

How dare you!

Oh yeah, I don't have a Cal degree of any sort, never even went to Cal. My life is in shambles and I work at a truck stop on I-5.

Wait. My Chico State bachelors and teaching credential allowed me to buy my five acres of farmland overlooking the Sutter Buttes and enjoy a nice little middle class life doing wonderful things that I love- including going to games at my parents' alma mater a few times a season.

It's about the journey!

I really do hope that Madsen can bring more top notch players in, though. And I think Shocky's crazy posts are fun and I hope they are seen by the recruits and make them think- because despite all of the yoga girls and music videos there is a message- what do want from your life, and the decisions you make now really do have repercussions for the future. My decision to not take the western civ class in my first semester at the JC I attended kept me from qualifying to transfer to Cal. Maybe if I had taken that class when I was 18, I might be dropping cash to get kids to play here.

Choices have outcomes. I hope yours lead you in the right direction.

But I believe in the "Butterfly effect"...."wrong" decisions lead you to different paths, and, maybe you have a loved one, or other nice things in your life that would not have happened without those specific turn of events.
Just like being divorced...would be easy to say I wish I wouldn't have married a certain person, but I love my daughter, and would not have had her without that union.

brenley, back in the day when jaylen brown & ivan rabb wuz recruited by kansas the jayhawks assistant coaches let both guys know that one of the "benefits" of the tricked out 5 star "lawrence ritz carlton" aka the mccarthy hall with its barber shop, built in theatre & basketball practice facility for 38 male athletes is that there is a constant flow of kansas female undergrads that like to do "the hang" in the lounge after 10:00 pm

like how u think longtimey, dingle is an exceptional talent but he's an extreme long shot with zero cal staff coaching connections for the long island native

the #1 priority at the combo guard is the unselfish distributor/facilitator & lethal 40% 3 point shooting marksman trey woodbury

Looks like Woodbury has entered the portal. Shocky - do you know if this means his NCAA eligibility status has been determined?

LOUMFSG2
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The last line in the espn piece seems key:

"This is a recent decision I have made to transfer," Bandaogo said. "I haven't had much time to think or to be worried about it. I just know I want to be closer to my friends and family that I have in USA. I feel that's very important for me at the moment."

Being closer to friends and family is important, Given that he and Woodbury entered the portal at the same time, I wonder if Aziz would be likely to follow Woodbury . . .
