Once again, the people who bring up stars are the only people who care about stars. If you remember the thread asking us for suggestions on how to run this forum, one of my suggestions was to get rid of stars as it causes unnecessary conflicts and they mean nothing.

Zelensky is incredibly impressive and if he succeeds he will go down in history as a Churchill or Lincoln like figure. An ending that Putin has no hope for.

Also, polls about a "negotiated" end to the war are very vague. I'm surprised everybody doesn't support a "negotiated" end to the war. It reminds me of the Obama days when polls showed extremely high support for immigration "reform". Both the left and the right supported "reform" they just disagreed on what that meant.

Zelenskyy is a U.S. puppet & dictator. His job is to keep attacking Russia for the U.S. NeoCons.

What the Ukrainian people need or want is irrelevant.

Putin & Russia will NEVER agree to Ukraine in NATO.

How would you characterize Putin?

"His job is to keep attacking Russia for the U.S. NeoCons."

What is Putin's job?

Iran claims we broke the MOU, and visa versa.

That's true.

But only one of the claims is correct -- and that is Iran's.

Article 5 of the MOU clearly states that Iran controls the Straits of Hormuz for 60 days. There is no mention of any other nation.

In defiance of Article 5 of the MOU, the U.S. tried to open an alternate passage thru the Straits in the territorial waters of Oman. When ships tried to go thru the Straits, ignoring or dismissing communications from the IRGC, they were given warnings, and then the IRGC fired on them.

So the MOU was in effect for exactly 5 days before the U.S. broke it.

5 Upon the signing of this MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge, for 60 days only, from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. The traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start, and considering the need for removing the technical and military obstacles, and demining by the Islamic Republic of Iran will be instated within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialog with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz.

This would be relevant here if the US had actually started the war in Ukraine.

The U.S. did start the war in Ukraine.

No.

Yes.

Of course, you could always support the fight yourself.

I already stated that I am in favor of the US supporting Ukraine with money and supplies, not Americans actually fighting in the war.

Has it ever occurred to you that the Ukrainian People might be fed up with the U.S. NeoCons using what's left of their country & people as a battering ram to attack and [supposedly] weaken Russia?

Do you think that they're in favor of the forced conscription? They're not.

Do you think that they've lost enough of their young (and not-so-young) men?

Do you think that they've had enough destruction of their infrastructure?

Zelenskyy is still the illegitimate "President" because he canceled the elections; and he canceled the elections because the Ukrainian People would vote him out in a heartbeat, and force an end to this idiotic war.

We are fighting the war, operating cruise missile, drone and HIMARS attacks planned by our intel and satellite reconnaissance for 4 years now, and more recently with targets deeper inside Russia.

I think you know this is not what I mean by "Americans fighting in the war."

We're leading the war, to the last Ukrainian.

The Ukrainians are choosing to fight the war. Not sure why you guys always want to remove their agency here.

I'm not "removing their agency". The U.S. did that for them by overthrowing their democratically-elected President (Yanukovich) in 2014, and by cancelling Ukraine's elections, & keeping puppet Zelenskyy in charge.

All that the U.S. NeoCons & Russophobes care about is their decades-long dream of defeating Russia by military conquest. Clearly, they care NOTHING about the destruction of Ukraine & the deaths of Ukrainians.

The question no one asks: "How are WE going to pay for that?"

If Russia were to fully conquer Ukraine, history and current expert analyses suggest that a large-scale, decentralized underground resistance movement would almost certainly emerge.

Historical and Current Indicators
Ukrainian society has demonstrated a high degree of national cohesion and resistance.

Active partisan networks and intelligence resistance have already operated within Russian-occupied territories during the invasion.

Historical precedents, such as the Ukrainian Insurgent Army during and after World War II, show a deep tradition of asymmetric resistance against foreign occupation.

Potential Forms of Resistance/Sabotage
Attacks on supply lines, railways, and communication infrastructure used by occupying forces.

Intelligence Gathering:
Local networks covertly passing military positions and movements to remaining Ukrainian forces or allies.

Civil Disobedience:
Strikes, non-cooperation with occupational administrations, and the underground distribution of independent media.

Guerrilla Warfare:
Armed rural and urban insurgencies utilizing concealed caches of weapons and local terrain knowledge.

He apparently doesn't want all of Ukraine - he wanted to protect 5 oblasts that were getting hammered by Ukranians and possibly Bandetas Nazis. Since NATO is committed to the last Ukrainian, it looks like Putin will make this winter brutal and is making forays into Odessa. New noises that Ukrainians want elections.

Fedorov claimed that entrenched illicit schemes and personal interests continue to hinder critical wartime decision-making.

The Ukraine War combat scenes in Season 3, Episode 1 of Lioness are worth the price of admission. Those scenes inspired me to seek out a documentary on the subject.

Lioness is an above average Taylor Sheridan effort…..but I would like to waterboard Zoe Saldana's and Nicole Kidman's characters every episode and I would like to snip Zoe's doctor husband's nards off because he is the most p whipped male in the history of cinema. All the family scenes are garbage.

Absolutely correct.

This is why Putin originally had ZERO desire to conquer all of the Ukrainian territory from the start of the SMO.

What Putin & the Russians learned from their experience in Eastern Europe through the Cold War:
  • It's extremely difficult, and expensive, to force an economic or political ideology onto a population that's determined to resist it;
  • Tactical success in the military battlefield (i.e., the successful suppression of political uprisings by military force & political suppression) does NOT translate to strategic success; as the U.S. learned in Vietnam, Iraq, & Afghanistan, you can win every military battle & still lose the war.
The original "de-Nazification" strategy was to kill as many Ukrainian soldiers as possible. On that score, "Mission Accomplished."

No doubt -- the U.S.-funded Western Ukrainian / Banderist zealots are ultra-hard-core haters of anything Russian -- up to & including Ukrainians of ethnic Russian descent.

Of course, as they consider ethnic Russian & Russian-speaking Ukrainians sub-human, many also have the same view of Poles -- and that's an "uncomfortable" issue in Poland (to say the least).

A hero in Kyiv, a criminal in Warsaw: Why history is dividing Poland and Ukraine

Remember that throughout Eastern Europe, after WW2, the OSS / CIA and the virulent anti-Communist Cold Warriors cultivated cooperative relationships with many ex-Nazis & Nazi collaborators.

Quote:

Russia has already destroyed nearly 90% of Ukraine's modern warehousing capacity.

Logistics hubs, retail distribution centers, warehouses, and businesses are being hammered. Kyiv and the surrounding region until recently regarded as relatively safer ground for major businesses are now enduring relentless attacks.

And behind every business reduced to rubble are thousands of jobs, the paychecks Ukrainian families depend on, tax revenues, supply chains, and the livelihoods of entire communities.

When businesses can no longer operate, people lose their jobs. They lose stable incomes. Families lose security. Communities lose their economic lifeline.

Ukraine is sliding into ruin.

And what is Zelensky doing? Still obsessing over escalation. Still dreaming of expanding the exchange of strikes, as though Ukraine had an endless supply of factories, warehouses, infrastructure, money, and human lives to burn through.

There comes a point when reckless escalation stops looking like strategy and starts looking like self-destruction.

Putin is waging war against Ukraine. That is obvious. But Zelensky's increasingly reckless fixation on escalation is turning him into a danger to Ukraine in his own right one that may prove no less devastating for the country he is supposed to protect.

Additional perspective on the proxy war

Quote:

The war in Ukraine keeps proving that things can always get worseeven when you think you've already hit rock bottom. In Kherson, Russian forces have destroyed the core infrastructure people need to survive the winter. That means no heat, no electricity, and likely shortages of food and water. Bombs, drones, and missiles fall on people's heads every day.

The Ukrainian authorities are telling Kherson residents… to leave. Volunteers already say money will not be enough. Everyone is searching for housing for many months ahead and trying to figure out how to evacuate people. One cannot simply donate.

Neither the national nor the regional government is offering anythingno cash aid, no housing, no shelters. Nothing. Only the instruction to leave.

But most of the people who remain in Kherson cannot leave because they lack money or face physical limitations. Not to mention pensioners who will never find or pay for housing on their own. Some people have no cars. Some have no smartphones. Some cannot even use the internet. Many live on pensions of $80150 a month.

This is another grim piece of evidence that money from Western taxpayers is not protecting Ukrainians. It is being spent instead on further escalating the war and enriching the military lobby.
