You give Massie too much credit for a smoking gun that was supposed to incriminate Donald Trump that never appeared.

Consider this timeline: After Maxwell's trial ended, direct appeals were made and denied: October 6, 2025 (Supreme Court denied cert). Trump had been in office since January 20, 2025.

  • Epstein Files Transparency Act (EFTA): Created by Massie/Khanna and signed into law by President Trump on November 19, 2025, after Massie/Khanna forced it through with a discharge petition.
  • Releases: Started (partially) December 19, 2025, with the big ~3+ million page dump on January 30, 2026 all under the Trump DOJ/ Pam Bondi.
  • Following the passage of legislation, the administration executed the largest public release in US government history: approximately 3.5 million pages, over 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images.
  • Materials spanned 20+ years of investigations (Florida 20062008, New York/SDNY cases, Maxwell prosecution, Epstein death probe). They were stored in:
    • FBI's Sentinel case management system.
    • Multiple field offices (Miami, New York).
    • Various DOJ components, U.S. Attorneys' offices.
    • Physical evidence, hard drives, CDs, paper files, emails, and 300+ GB of digital data.
    • Trump's DOJ had to hunt through databases, locked cabinets, desks, network drives, and previously unidentified locations. The process was "substantially manual" because files had been shared/duplicated across offices and jurisdictions over decades.

  • Over 6 million potentially responsive pages identified. They reviewed/redacted with 500+ attorneys and staff. Priorities included victim privacy, child abuse material, grand jury info, and classified items. Lawyers worked around the clock, including holidays, processing up to 1,000+ documents per attorney per week.
  • Thomas Massie was critical of the Trump DOJ during this entire process like he was when he was supporting Ron DeSantis during the primaries.
  • No "client list" or bombshell document incriminating high-profile individuals ever existed, as the DOJ confirmed. The releases provided raw investigative files, photos, logs, and internal memos most of which reinforced previously known associations rather than delivering new criminal revelations.
  • While Rep. Massie helped generate attention through a discharge petition, all the heavy lifting, the actual disclosure, and transparency occurred under President Trump's administration.
