If this matter was in court as it sits today, a jury would find Trump's call got the suspension lifted.

IMO they got the right result for Balogun (he didn't deserve another game's suspension for what he did), but got there essentially through two wrong-headed processes: first the use of slow-mo VAR review when it shouldn't have been used to issue the red, then reversing that because of political pressure.

1.VAR protocol was ignored, and the card should never have been issued. Balogun's availability should be upheld.
