Cal needs to win tomorrow, beat Stanford and then play loose in Dallas vs SMU and try and spoil SMU's season.

If Cal ends up at 6 they could very well end up in Shreveport again. The program needs a better bowl destination than that. Many of the bowls are early in the bowl cycle and finals would once again be taken during a good part of bowl prep. The Sun, Alamo or possibly the Holiday bowl would be better for the players and program.

bottom line, knowlton is not only financially illiterate (cannot read a financial statement/use power point) & a pathological liar (who has lied for years including to even madsen re: shovels in the ground for the basketball practice facility when it's not even listed on the campus capital projects list) who underfunded football & basketball for years in sharing christ's disdain for these sports while surrounding himself with other worthless bureaucrats like the lazy azz markeisha (who is protected by dei protections for failing employees & who stubbornly refuses to offer FREE tixs to all students despite haas continuing to be a cold empty place on gamedays for both the men & women bb games) & his appointed #2 the truly evil as **** jenny

the department's abject failure to run a balanced budget via rightsizing the # of unsustainable sports teams is resulting in the borrowing of outrageous sums of money from the central campus which will NEVER have the future revenue flows to repay the debt (keep in mind the athletic dept is not the federal government, it cannot print money)...this financial information has not been readily/transparently shared, the department has stonewalled me at every turn which has required relentless public information requests by shocky in order to find the financial truth

lyons will either allow cal athletics/and the university to sink into oblivion with knowlton (who is one of the highest paid athletic directors in the nation & is contractually protected thru 2029) or he will replace the con artist with berkeley grad andrew "football first" mcgraw...if this happens dan mogulof will be the central figure in this critical reorganization for which there is no other choice

but right now the lyon is sleeping on pride rock (today's amateur hour presentation to the board of regents wuz embarazzing w/ non proofed slides/graphics & a current $50,000,000+ deficit, using 2023 #s wuz intentionally misleading & very disappointing that the berkeley chancellor would be a party to such worthless bureaucrat deception), keep in mind that rich's experience in the real world wuz as a organizational consultant for goldman sachs & NOT a bro of wall street making deals/getting **** done


as berkeley's oppenheimer once famously said "theory will only take you so far"

alky, lyons sat there at this week's board of regents meeting and allowed knowlton to use 2023 financial data (which includes full pac 12 revenues) instead of the actual current financial data (which shocky has unearthed thru relentless public information requests) which shows the athletic department is hemorrhaging $50,000,000+ a year with NO financial gameplan at this time to rightsize the ship aka balance the budget & reduce the # of sports teams

the fact that lyons would go to a board of regents meeting (just like the FAILED zoom call to raise funds for the non revenue sports) with both the worst athletic director in the nation AND the evil as **** jenny (who honestly should be in jail for her role with the suicidal women's swimmers) tells me there's a very good chance that rich is more about innovation talk than actual meaningful corrective change

well stated 6956, another potential bowl game during berkeley finals the week of december 9th thru the 13th no es bueno

an almost new year's bowl game in late december gives our student athletes the full opportunity to fully focus on the rigorous finals examinations at the #1 ranked public university in the world & also permits the program to utilize all the ncca allowed maximum # of practices (which essentially becomes an extra spring ball)...both the sun & alamo bowls put the university of calveston in another home game in the targeted fertile recruiting footprint of the great state of texas

non clueless athletic directors horse trade bowl games behind the scenes but not the con artist, the bears need to WIN OUT!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this year the only Pac-12 bowl that is early in the cycle is the LA Bowl. Everything else (even Shreveport) is Dec 27 or later.

Attending meetings, saying "go bears", singing Bear Territory before the other team comes back from 25 down does not equate to true action.

The mandate that all men's programs have to move be fully endowed is as big of a Cal Athletics move since I guess Barbour was about to drop some sports, but I would argue more direction setting, and not just a short term band-aid statement.

May being the key word. His game tonight is at 7:30 Hawaiian time. If tomorrows game were at night I would feel better about him making it in. If he does come though it suggests he is really serious about keeping his commitment to the program.

The timing will make it tough for him to get here. But not impossible.

2024 pga tournament in bermuda: 2nd round update

despite playing the brutal (the rest of the course is relatively scoreable) par 3s in 4 over par, michael kim played the par 5s in 3 under par en route to a 71 & is tied for 45th...heading into the weekend michael is currently projected at #118 (started the tournament at #116) in the fierce battle to being the top 125 to retain the golden tix pga tour card for 2025

james hahn could not birdie his final hole of the day & despite a solid 69 missed the cut by a stroke & is flying back to the mainland

yeah the best thing (other than the beautiful white sand beaches with yoga classes & a lotta bikinis) about bermuda is that the primary form of transportation on the tiny island is scooters, shocky like to drive at the speed of light disregarding all stop signs & ****!!...the only way life could be better then is if shocky had a substitute yoga teacher PONYTAIL that would float in the tropical breezes!!

fun fact: last friday nite in winston-salem from the pregame warm ups to the liam johnson game winning ice in his veins anticipatory jumping the route interception this wuz the most FIERY & DEMONSTRATIVE cal sidelines during the coach wilcox cerebeal era of football, talking about players, staff & coaches!!

one of shocky's lasting memories of the 2024 california golden bears football season will be david reese telling the mouthy wake student section behind the bears sidelines to **** OFF in every ******* imaginable way!!...u would've had to been there to appreciate it, his rant wuz EPIC!!

multiple sources have indicated it's unlikely that cade uluave is gonna play today, it's gonna be hunter barth & liam johnson at inside backer, both have already made key turnover hits/interceptions this season
