Totally obvious, I knew if from the live play. The kicking team can't touch it OR make contact with a player before it goes 10 yards. If our player was knocked out of the way and he was standing on the 10 yard line, no way it's not a penalty.

I'm usually not fond of just confidently "using up the clock." I think you have to keep the heat on right through the end.

The Cal player was 11 1/2 yards away from kicked ball location at time of contact. I'm not sure it was a penalty at all. Both players were beyond the ball, but the ball was at somewhere between 9.75 and 10.25 yards... verrrrrry close.

Cal offense was horrid all game long. The defense deteriorated in the second half against probably the worst offense Cal will face all season.

Why was Bowers taken out?

Thank goodness it's year 2 and Baldwin has a better handle on the personnel and our players a better understanding of the scheme.

They brought the cart out for Goode on the sideline. When it returned to the tunnel, he wasn't on it. Hope that is a good sign.

QB situation could define the season. I'm more unsure about it then I was at the beginning of last year somehow.

Defense played great. If we wait till the 4th quarter to give up a TD every game then we are doing something right.

He was most definitely on it, Frank.

The play calling was abysmal. 40% of plays were delayed hand offs to laird up the middle for one yard. No protection from what was supposed to be a good o line. No sacks. Lots of soft tackles that could have been tfls but weren't. We won the turnover battle 4-0 and still barely won. Punting was terrible, Hudson dropped 4 passes, three for first downs. No chance to see what bunting could do. No chance to see any of our other 4 running backs. This was a terribly coached offensive game. Great d. Great to get a win, but a total let down against a team we should have stomped.

Yikes, was expecting more points. I hope this was playing and coaching jitters and will be worked out. A win is a win, but man, honestly a little scared thinking about the conference campaign with that offense. Go Bears
