Fun follow up; first time I met Jahvid Best and Shane Vereen (at a Cal football old guy event that Tedford and the staff put on - I can't remember what they called it, but it was basically two practices culminating in a game of "touch football" that devolved into a game of tackle football with a bunch of old farts not wearing pads) - I couldn't help but suggest we have a 40 yard race. They played along as the good sports that they are - clearly I had no chance to keep up with them - but it was fun nonetheless.Shocky1 said:
so back in the day, vandy is my floor seat guest for the arkansas nit game & that week on the arky board the monster is conversing with a guy that may or may not be bill clinton and we talk in private messages about him flying out to berkeley
https://bearinsider.com/forums/8/topics/11616/72
so the athletic department isn't 100% sure what's going on but to be on the safe side they move my floor seats from directly across the opposing team's head coach's chair (so i can yell at the donut boy of tuscon/criminal dana altman for a non stop 40 minutes) to doug goldman's 2 seats right next to roxy & bill walton doing the broadcast with additional security
long story short, gohogs14 wuzn't bill clinton, shocky & vandy r dumb azzs
anyways, vandy ran track for the bears before he got in the bad but lucrative practice of suing everyone for a living, yeah he's arguably the fastest white boy that could even stay close to javid's chieftien thunder
shut up, shocky#

I think the biggest competition for Aziz' services is the ability to gain enough funds in the NIL quickly after doing a remarkable job to date. I think all things being equal Aziz would love to be with familiarity.LOUMFSG2 said:Interesting.Shocky1 said:

Shocky, I've seen Illinois listed as potential landing spot for Bandaogo based on the recent commitment of former teammate Justin Harmon, although I know you said you didn't think that would be a big factor in his decision. I've also seen Cincinnati listed as a likely spot, although I'm not sure what the connection is there.
Who do you think is the biggest competition to Cal for Aziz' services, and when do you think the NCAA will rule on his eligibility so that he can make a decision?
Sounds like it's not all about the $$, otherwise the decision would have already been made. Hoping he has good counsel on the value of a Cal degree when basketball is done.Shocky1 said:
lou lou lemon, that twitter feed is kinda like my boy wetbeef, fun but just making **** up tho they both read the monster so they get points for that
aziz's 1st stop in america wuz in akron, ohio...but then he left for utah valley
cincy & north carolina got deep pockets
https://instagr.am/p/CgnrydaPqWx
back in the day shocky visited tara iti (north of auckland, world top 25 course, tom doak design) as part of my new course opening ratings/rankings responsibilities & played/hosted with the club's founder billionaire ric kayne from beverly hills & his good friend (and silent partner at tara it) larry sheakley
https://bearinsider.com/forums/8/topics/28431/50
sheakley asks me during the cookout on the beach if i wanna play again that week but i tell him i gotta get back to the states for cal's season opener...sheakley laughs & tells me he's also an ardent college basketball fan and that he's read cal's monster class which is kinda amazing to me but not totally shocking given the millions of views it had received at that time
larry (who is a fun non pretentious guy, kayne teases him the whole round about still primarily living in the midwest) owns the cincinnati reds baseball team (which he does not mention to me, our shared caddie tells me this after the round) & is the university of cincy's #1 booster/donor, he can literally pay whatever nil number bandaogo wants & then double (or triple it) it to get the deal done
As others have found out, what they say they will pay is not always what happens. At some point, with an Nba career looming with the right coaching, Azziz has to decide if he wants to be coached by Madsen who can better prepare him or take the fast money now and risk his future. It is definitely interesting. Too bad we are not competing with The criminals at Arizona. Wouldn't you love to get one from them?Vandalus said:Sounds like it's not all about the $$, otherwise the decision would have already been made. Yes it is. Imagine having a full time job where you travel a lot, one that is hugely taxing physically, and still getting it done in a hard major at Haas Business. You talk about stress. There are kids who have none of that, who were talented enough to get into Cal, yet still do poorly at Cal. Way to go Joel, Lars, 2K and Jarred.dimitrig said:KenBurnski said:
