I think pretty much all monkeys and apes are plant eaters, predominantly.
Sometimes baboons and chimps will go on the attack for meat. Everyone gets all excited about it, like it's a luxury. But the bulk of diet is not carnivorous.
Dogs and cats are meat eaters. Short intestines process faster.
I believe it's not healthy for humans to have decaying meat in the gut. Processed cold cuts or charred bbq contributes to colon cancers.

The Inuit thrive on a diet that is 0% plant-based, fish, seals, whales, caribous.
Nightshade veggies (tomatoes, eggplants, peppers etc) can damage the lining of your intestines, while broth from bone and skin will restore your gut lining.
Balanced omnivore diets with quality meats and fish are best.
