That gif is of Gerald Ford, not Bob Hope. And they both died before 2024, fyi. C'mon concordtom, think before you post... especially on your own thread! This thread is your legacy and deserves respect!

Life is abnormal these days as we are simply waiting for The Big One.
Once that happens, our long national Nightmare will be over, Hope can return, and Bearister will report again on minor musical mortalities of his youth.

Sonny had great arm talent and I took something away from it:

There exists a great clip of him (NFL Films?) where, during practice, all his receivers are lined up to run outs and he's throwing frozen ropes to them, perfectly placed. The he gets bored and throws one underhanded, also perfect. The next one, he throws underhanded behind his back. Also perfect.

I was a kid and started practicing those last two, just for fun. Turns out they aren't that hard; ball comes out in a natural spiral. Fast forward a few decades and I'm throwing balls to my son like Sonny did (sort of). So then he started practicing them...

Not sure how many generations my family will go with this, but hopefully many. Thanks, Sonny!

Greg Brown, founding guitarist of Cake and writer of the band's hit song "The Distance," has died.

Cake announced Brown's passing in a social media post on Saturday (Feb. 7). His age was not provided in the announcement, but a 2021 Billboard feature listed him as 51 at the time.

No cause of death given but a post said he died "after a brief illness."

The band is apparently out of Sacramento.

Veggies yes
Processed meats no

Our intestines are long like leaf eaters, not short like meat eaters.
Culturally, meat is where it's at. But for lifespan, eat like a bunny rabbit.

You can also eat bunny rabbits, they're delicious, and that's what canines are for.

Good response, made me laugh.

I think pretty much all monkeys and apes are plant eaters, predominantly.
Sometimes baboons and chimps will go on the attack for meat. Everyone gets all excited about it, like it's a luxury. But the bulk of diet is not carnivorous.

Dogs and cats are meat eaters. Short intestines process faster.

I believe it's not healthy for humans to have decaying meat in the gut. Processed cold cuts or charred bbq contributes to colon cancers.

The Inuit thrive on a diet that is 0% plant-based, fish, seals, whales, caribous.

Nightshade veggies (tomatoes, eggplants, peppers etc) can damage the lining of your intestines, while broth from bone and skin will restore your gut lining.

Balanced omnivore diets with quality meats and fish are best.

You should enjoy this Pete Townshend song:

We've got to fool the fools
We got to plan the plans
We got to rule the rules
We got to stand the stands
We got to fight the fight
We must fall the falls
We got to light the light
We got to call the calls
We must race the race
So we can face the face
We got to race the race
We must race the race
So we can face the face
Face the face
We got to face the face
We got to race the race

The Inuit diet is indeed fascinating.

How about the percentage of lactose tolerance among Homo sapiens.
