From January to present this probably looks a lot like a graph of vaccination. Sad to see so many fall prey to the death cult and anti-vaxx dissembling, the likes of which we see even on BI. Almost like stochastic suicide at a population level.
Another thing you see here is that the low Trump vote areas got more death early on (presumably these are dense, high-population cities). So the people in those places learned quickly that COVID-19 was no joke. People in rural areas were in denial and remain so.
Yup. And now COVID is the leading cause of death for unvaccinated people under 65.
I can't break this out by vaxxed/unvaxxed, but according to
CDC data, about 20% of all deaths in people between 15 and 64 in September and October were from COVID - around 33k died of COVID out of ~120k total deaths.
Keep in mind that virtually all of the COVID deaths are amongst unvaxxed whereas the non-COVID deaths are presumably more evenly distributed. So you would expect about 35k unvaccinated people to have died in that age cohort since the beginning of September, but it's almost double that, due to COVID.
In other words, almost half of all deaths in unvaccinated people between 15 and 64 is from COVID (~33k out of ~68k total). So not only is COVID by far the leading cause of deaths in this unvaccinated group, it's almost a bigger killer than all other causes combined.
Meanwhile, no one is dying from the vaccines but we have a massive misinformation campaign being deployed to quibble about one side effect (myocarditis) that is far more prevalent in COVID itself, and while COVID is still killing tens of thousands of unvaxxed adults per month.
