LeBron James went from well liked, to less so, after his live "Decision" broadcast where he bolted Cleveland to Miami. He's been quoted as saying he wants nothing to do with white people. He's said "NFL owners are 'old white men' with 'slave mentality". He doesn't get tons of heat.
A friend in coaching really dislikes him and considers him racist. I have no dog in the fight, but argued the black community would be so much better off if there were thousands of other black athletes and entertainers like LeBron. Sponsoring hundreds to go to college, employing brothers in his community, starting businesses, and marrying the mother of his children.
