Kevin O'Leary and that economist from the White House Stephan Miran are MORONS.
Miran, another idiot with a PhD from Harvard.

The current effective rate for U.S. tariffs is now up to 15.2%.
This hasn't happened since 1933 when Smoot-Hawley was imposed.

Our economy will be getting SMALLER.
And job losses will be INCREASING.

Duh.

Morons.
All of them.

Trump declines to rule out a Recession for 2025.

And here I thought that everything was gonna be GREAT and that the American economy would be performing like never before in the history of our country.

Meanwhile, Trump's Commerce Secretary said on "Meet the Press" when asked about the possibility of a downturn, Howard Lutnick said, "Absolutely not."

Hmmmm....
Someone sounds confused again.

Trump declines to rule out 2025 US recession

What happened to all those tariff bucks which were going to make American Great Again? Don't worry those trade deals are going to pump billions into the US and consumers won't have to pay the tariff taxes that are coming. Is this what winning looks like?

is Trump still blaming Biden for inflation?

How about the ****ty job numbers?
Biden's fault?

Ford took an $800 million hit to its second quarter earnings due to Trump's tariffs?
Was that Biden's fault too?

Who will Chump blame next month when Corporate America starts announcing layoffs?

Loans are a form of investing, its just that the lender gets interest payments back instead of equity in the company. But the criticism is fair - this is (likely) only additive to the economy if the recipient of the loans didn't otherwise have access to capital.

If this investment happens, it will simply fund even more imports of Japanese or German industrial equipment, auto parts, steel, and the like.

Trump's trade deals will create even bigger current-account deficits.

Foreign investors either will use their capital to buy foreign products, will repatriate their profits, or both.

Irony of ironies.

And then Trump says that the U.S. "will receive 90% of the profits" from Japan's investments.

How Trump could enforce this remains a mystery.

How stupid is this U.S. President?
Seriously.

HOW MANY TIMES DID TRUMP LIE ON CNBC THIS MORNING?

HOW MANY TIMES DID HE LIE ABOUT THE JOBS NUMBER REVISIONS?

HIS BUDDY JOE KERNAN EVEN CALLED HIM OUT ON HIS STUPIDITY.

"AND IN MARCH 2025, IT WAS REVISED DOWN TO - 590,000"

You're problem is that you know very little about basic macro-economics.

Perhaps you should watch this interview of the CEO of Detroit Axle about how "great" Trump's stupid tariffs are.

HIs $600 million dollar auto parts company that is a family business that employs 300 people are now paying $725,000 in tariffs for every $1 million worth of goods imported.

That's 72.5%

Axles used to be remanufactured in America, prior to cheap Chinese axles coming in and dominating the market. I wonder if there are any reman operations in the USA that have had a giant spike in demand.

The CEO of Detroit Axle Mike Musheinesh said in an interview on CNN this morning that most of his competitors have had to exit the parts distribution business given the tariffs. These are smaller and mid-sized companies. The only reason he hasn't laid anyone off is because he's now trying to pick up the market share.

So he moved sourcing his components to India.
But then Trump slapped a 25% tariff on India last week.

This speaks to how difficult it is to run your company with these tariffs.

In Trump's first term, Musheinesh said that tariffs cost him $25,000 per $1.0 million in sales.
Now, it's $725,000 per $1.0 million.

And Trump wonders why the July jobs numbers were so bad.
lol

You are ignorant on this subject, and this isn't an argument. I distributed automotive axles axles for twenty years of my life. Chinese axles replaced remanufactured axles just like they replaced recored radiators, resurfaced flywheels, and even resurfacing rotors. The question I posed simply wondered if there are still remanufactured axles suppliers and, if so, have they had a surge in demand. I acknowledge that reman supplies cost more now. I also acknowledge that even many reman facilities (such as BB) moved to Mexico to take advantage of cheaper labor (and take jobs from Americans).
DiabloWags

That's interesting.

It would appear that Detroit Axle CEO Mike Musheinesh would know something about the remanufactured market place and whether or not his business has "spiked" as the result of his competitors exiting the business. But as he pointed out, he's in a low margin business and at the end of the day with Trump's tariffs, 72.5% of his sales are going to the Govt.

Detroit Axle tried to work around the Trump tariffs using the de minimis exemption for low-value goods imported from China (and elsewhere). But Trump eliminated that exemption recently.

Detroit Axle filed a lawsuit over that.
You can read about it here:

Musheinesh was interviewed earlier this morning on CNN.
Perhaps you can find the interview and replay it.

I would imagine that given that you were in the business for 20 years, you have plenty of contacts to speak with that will help you arrive with an answer to your question.

But as the CEO of Detroit Axle pointed out, many smaller and medium sized firms have exited the business. That doesn't sound like a healthy economic "landscape" to me. It sounds like a much more "concentrated" one with less competitive pricing and perhaps fewer choices.

Invariably, this is basic Econ 101.
Tariffs drive up prices for the consumer and decrease choice.

But Donald Trump doesn't seem to realize this, or if he did, he doesn't seem to care.

Every U.S. Auto CEO will tell you that a 15% tariff won't be bringing back auto production on U.S. soil anytime soon.
They wanted a MUCH HIGHER tariff.

15% is a joke.

Meanwhile, that 50% aluminum tariff is crippling Ford Motor Co and their F-150 truck.
The best-selling truck in America uses nearly 700 lbs. of aluminum.

Of course, you'll never hear any Trumpanzees here talk about how Ford is getting totally screwed over.

We should also set up specific visas for occupations like cobblers. A wave of cobblers are retiring, offer 20-50,000 cobbler visas, and require they work in that field for 10+ years. Go into construction?, send them.home.
