If SARS-CoV-2 ends up being endemic, why is that necessarily so bad, given that we have effective vaccines for it? It might end up being "like the flu" but with even less fatalities. It will certainly mutate, but we pretty much know it does NOT mutate as fast as the flu does.
If these variants from the UK and S. Africa are such a problem, why are cases down so much in those two countries?
