Cal was a loyal member of a conference that was pretty elite until Larry Scott got his hands on it, and the new Commish couldn't do anything that righted the ship. The conference had their chances with picking up Texas, Oklahoma, et. al. back in the day. To the extent Cal was part of not making this happen, I don't know, and/or I don't remember.Econ141 said:calumnus said:Strykur said:Everybody and their grandma knows that at some point the B1G will work out an expansion deal with us now that the PAC-12 is collapsing, and so this won't matter.philly1121 said:I suppose we should know what is going to happen in about an hour. I don't think there's any way we could go independent.calumnus said:The situation is bad, but this seems unnecessarily harsh. If Stanford goes independent there is nothing stopping Cal from going independent too. It is not like you need an invite to go independent. Stanford is in the same boat we are in, hopefully we are working together.okaydo said:Cal has mismanaged its athletic department for a long time. But the notion that Cal freaking Berkeley - one of the great schools in the country in an amazing location - would get left behind in realignment is unacceptable https://t.co/IhpIo5Vkaj

As far as the Mountain West. is there any possibility that, with our seemingly well publicized and disliked snobbery, they take OSU and Wazoo and not us?
But they will be able to offer something greater than MWC ($5 million) and we will have to take it.
So in the end, it ended as we all new it would ... TypiCAL.
But yeah, if it makes you feel better, go with with that.
