Unbelievably idiotic. There's a greater chance we don't convert than we do and that we'll be the team chasing the points the rest of the game. We aren't Chip Kelly's Oregon and this isn't 2011 when nobody really knew how to defend weird extra point formations.

I think part of it is knowing your team as well. He talks about being in a close game and trying to get an edge. However, I think if it's a matchup of two high octane offenses such as peak Chip Kelly Oregon, it's a possible strategy. However, our offense oftentimes has trouble scoring especially in the red zone and short yardage situtions. We need every point we can get and not give any away.oski003 said:BadNewsBear1 said:

With playing conservatively at the end, we have a kicker that has missed a number of kicks (I think most in the nation from somewhere I read) and has a number of misses between 30-40. He should have made it, but we also should have tried to get closer or score a TD. Even if he makes it, Pitt gets the ball back with almost 2 minutes left and a kicker that nailed a 59 yarder.
I also don't understand putting in Rogers in that situation when you have Mendoza who has momentum. I hear QB play is often about rhythm (Goff the ultimate rhythm QB), and then you sub him out. Rogers should be a goal line package if you're going to do that (I'm not a fan regardless but can see how someone may think it's effective).
All in all, it was a rough watch. Not healthy for the blood pressure.
