Cal should never kick. Unreal how I grew up with amazing kickers, and haven't seen even a mediocre kicker here in a decade.

I'm putting part of this on Bloesch. Why not run it to the outside every once in a while. Can't pass on every down. Mendoza is not sharp today. Missing a lot of throws. Starling's drop didn't help.

A ST coordinator doesn't coach kickers. That is not the issue on FG kicking.

It was in his head already.

Chipping extra point kicks for field goals doesn't make a good kicker.

Cal just doesn't give attention to kicking, not for a decade now.

I turned to my buddy after the first down incompletion and said "they're going to run up the middle on 2nd down for 3 yards, throw incomplete on 3rd down and miss the field goal".

That was a good drive with pretty darn good play calling. Hard to fault the OL or OC.

I blame the '70's style uniforms. Other than a couple of good (but not bowl-worthy) years, we were mediocre.
