Two reasons switching mid-drive is bad

1. Loss of tempo. We had NC on their heels. Pulling QBs in and out = lets the D reset, make substitutions
2. If McIlwain is the "run QB," the D knows...we're gonna run. Like unless you're absolutely dominant at the line of scrimmage, a defense that knows we're running can sell out to stop it...

I mean look, I'm an internet poster and Beau Baldwin is a college football coach who has had a fair amount of success, I'm sure he understands this. But...IDK. What's the upside of this.

Leave him in and keep with that quick passing offense. He has a nice touch and NC is going with all man coverage because they want to sell out to stop the inside run. If you want to run, put in a speedy RB and run sweeps and use flare passes. Anything up the middle or slow developing will get destroyed by the NC defense right now.

For whatever reason the coaching staff continues to bring in the jumbo package allowing NC to sell out against the run. Spreading them out was successful but once again the staff decided to outsmart themselves and go back to what hasn't been successful. SMFH

I am not a fan of this QB rotation at all. If you have 3 QBs that means you really don't have any QBs.

So it's unanimous - Baldwin is the GOAT :P

Curious to me that there's hand wringing over any of this. Cal has zero playmakers. Win or lose, the talent isn't there to become bowl eligible. UNC is dreadful, but it's a game. I didn't think it would be quite this bad, but there it is.

Appears Garbers is giving us a nice QB run option. Let him stay in for a couple of complete series.

I think the coaches are confident in the win and are doing a lot of experimentation.
