I remember seeing this article last month:

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Tortured person that is now in peace. It is sad given his age. A lot of music people with his issues died at 27. I don't know if he enjoyed the almost 30 years extra he got on them.

I follow him on Twitter. He hadn't tweeted since last November. Then suddenly, he tweeted in the past few days.

Here's his first acting role in 1979.

I hate "Friends."

I wonder if he had a heart attack.

He probably did, in his bathtub.

Heart attack?
Or he could have gotten high and fell asleep and drowned.

Bath tub deaths:
Whitney Houston and her daughter, too.
Judy Garland.

Jim Morrison was in the tub but had blood in mouth and nose indicating hematoma coughing.

As we get older, we need to be cautious in hot water.
My stepfather went golfing, came home and took a hot tub with a glass of wine.
He stood up and immediately fainted, broke his neck and almost died. He ended up okay after recovering but doctors said this happens ALL THE TIME!!

The blood doesn't get pumped up to brain after the hot water. And if alcohol, and old age or poor circulation system, Bingo.

Maybe this is what got Tyler Bing.

I was a child of the 70s and 80s and I have no idea who this is. I went to view the videos to see if I knew his hit songs and I never heard them in my life.

Perhaps this guy should be bumped from our thread.

If Perry slipped and broke his neck or hit his head hard, the paramedics would have observed that.

It turns out it was indeed a heart attack:
Quote:

Law enforcement sources tell us the actor was found Saturday at an L.A.-area home .. where we're told he appears to have drowned. Our sources say first-responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest.

https://www.tmz.com/2023/10/28/friends-star-matthew-perry-dead-dies-drowning/
and he was probably not drugged out of his mind, since he had come home from a 2-hr round of pickleball and was in discussion with his assistant
Quote:

We're told Matthew came home sometime in the AM after a 2-hour round of pickleball, and that he sent his assistant out on errand shortly thereafter. We're told when the assistant returned about 2 hours later, he discovered Matthew unresponsive ... and called 911.

This is Matthew Perry's mom, who was press secretary to Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau.

Perry grew up with Trudeau's son, current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom he used to beat up.

Also, for those who don't know: Perry's mom has been married to Keith Morrison since 1981.

Huh?

This article from 3 days ago says a Putin heart attack was misinformation.

Are you doubling down?

I searched a bunch more.
Lots of 4th string news outlets discussing. None of the mainstream.

So, what are you basing your info on?

I suppose we'll see soon enough.
If they never present him publicly.
Unless a Weekend at Bernie's situation.

One of the bestsellers I never wrote was going to be entitled "101 Insanely Cruel But Hilarious Things to Do to the Cast of Friends". No, "drowning Matthew Perry" was not one of them, though it might have made the sequel. (Hey, thoughts and prayers to his family and close friends, though.)

I won't post on BI what #63 was, but it involved a few dozen clothes pins.

The last Big Man standing. He has always taken incredible care of himself, evidenced by a 20 year NBA career. He has struggled with his health the last few years.

concortom never fails to retain the humility for which he is beloved. a more narcissistic poster would have said "... my obituaries thread".

Airplane!
1980
I was 12 when my best friend and I were dropped at the Rockridge theater at Broadway and Pleasant Valley.
We ate popcorn, candy, drank soda and howled like never before with our sneakers up on the seats in front of us during that mostly empty matinee. We were kings, cackling like we owned the joint!

I wish I could see a surveillance video of those two boys today. Or the theater workers who may have noticed us. "Look at those two kids! Jesus Christ!"

But, you know, they got the title of that book wrong. It's Shirley, not surely!!

Judging by the picture, you probably wished you were BIG. Or maybe it was your friend, though with a name like concordtom, you fit the Tom Hanks role better.

I saw it in Albany, CA. It marked a momentous occasion for me. I smoked a joint for the last time in my life before going into the theater.. and then proceeded to giggle like a 12 year old boy, on drugs, for the entire film. I think it was to the point of crying and having to catch my breath.

I suppose one could find several morals to the story. The reason I posted two boys from Big in my memory of that day in the theater is just to appreciate the innocence of youth.
Hopefully every reader has some such memories.

By next year, we were at Jr high and much of that innocence was gone.

concordtom, the death of Bob Knight is being reported over on the Men's Basketball forum and that's kind of irking me. I think you ought to go over there and get things squared away. (or is that actually okay because of, like, "Rule 8b" or something?)

I never liked Bobby Knight. In fact, I strongly disliked him. So, I wish you'd have left it on the Hoops board and never have posted him over here on my thread.

Ooops. I said it.
There, are you happy?

(No tears for Bobby. Only laughter.)

You can't post Big Fella here, because he's loved.
You can't post Bobby here, because he's disliked.
And when Trump dies, we get to have 1000 new threads, each a celebration of their own!

(Sorry to those basketball people who may have actually known Bobby and may have actually had reason to like him.)
