The only difference being that this is THE F@CKING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA MAKING THIS STATEMENT not some anonymous dipstick on an Internet forum.

I wonder if the Trump Apologists in this Forum will ever figure out that he is a total D-BAG.

Massie is more direct in his condemnation:

This really is indefensible from Trump. I wonder if this blatant lack of judgment is a symptom of early stage dementia.

As to Reiner, I wonder what his son's medicine cabinet had.

He doubled down on it so you have that. Oh and the fact he's been a dick his entire life. Cmon.

There are reports the Reiners had a big blowup argument with their troubled son Nick Saturday night at Conan Obrien's Christmas party. He may have been using again. They may have wanted him to go to a treatment facility and he may have wanted to do treatment while living at home. Their necks were slashed at home sometime after that party and 3:30 the next afternoon.

In prior interviews around the time of the semi-autobiographical "Being Charlie" the Reiners spoke about 'mistakes' they made not listening to their son about not wanting to do treatment; they believed the professionals because they had degrees; the professionals told them they were enabling the son, etc.

This breaks my heart. If any of you have had a child that's seriously troubled you know how brutally hard this whole situation is. If your kid's bigger problems have been getting a C+ on a test or staying out past curfew…count your blessings.

It is this simple: He shames our country on the world stage every time he opens his mouth or makes a post and those that support/excuse his conduct gain a notch on the Self Debasement Graph on a daily basis.

It's amazing how he just can't help himself from saying stuff like this. Seemingly on a mission to outdo himself at least once a month, if not even more frequently. I keep waiting for his support to erode in his own party and there do seem to be some cracks in the foundation. Anybody else in either party and the whole house would've collapsed a long time ago.

Outside of this kind of stuff, the grifting and the policies, I guess he's not so bad though.

Oh, I can relate to this story. My younger sister is a homeless drug addict bully thief with no bank account or phone number or email address who's occasionally violent. When my dad was alive, he filed 2 restraining orders against her. He tried dealing social workers. The cops. Nothing has worked.

Now, she's my problem.

I try to manage it the best way I can.

I feel sorry for the republicans who continue to defend Trump. You'd think after Access Hollywood, the past 9 years of scandal, not to mention decades of publicly being a scoundrel before then.

What does it say about a person who supports or defends Trump today?

Idiocy

Every event doesn't have to be a prompt to make social or political points.
"It is really sad that (Charlie / the Reiners) was heinously murdered. Nobody deserves to die like that" is plenty. Hell, if we must we could add a "I don't agree with him/them on politics but..." as a lead in. That is all that is needed. Why can't people just be human?

Because unfortunately being human also means being cruel, lazy, forgetful, murderous, deceitful, vengeful…..

Every time she comes (and she comes at random times), I write it down (see below). These are all the days she's been in my life in 2024 and 2025. So it's not that bad, but her presence just elevates my stress levels.

The way I like to describe her is she likes to "A**hole it up." She treats me like I'm her slave and calls me every slur in the book. Her power is that she likes to yell as loud as possible and for as long as possible. And she'll throw tantrums until she gets her way. She won't back down. Oh, and I moved into a quiet condo earlier this year (a buildindg where 40% of the tenants are elderly and everybody has agreed to be quiet.) She'll also arrives with random junk from the streets that I end up having to dispose of. Last month, she came with a suitcase full of stolen copper wire.

That's extremely difficult, because at the same time that you are trying to care and love you have to deal with irrationality.

That is such a great question - thanks for asking.

…..this scenario is unfolding more frequently these days:

A family calls the cops because a family member with mental/substance abuse problem is threatening them with a club, sword, bat, pike, etc. Cops arrive and can't talk person in crisis down. Said person charges cops with weapon. Cops shoot and kill said person. County writes check to family for 1 to 6 million dollars.

I will pray for you and your family. I hope someday things change for her, and you, but unfortunately we both know that might not happen. Props to you for doing what you're able to, that can't be easy on you either physically or emotionally. Addiction is such a terrible curse on the afflicted and those who love them.

Legendary SF Chronicle sportswriter Glenn Dickey died last Friday at the age of 90 at his home in Oakland.

He dominated the Bay Area sportswriting market in the 70's. He was as subtle as a punch to the jaw.

If you were a fraud or a failure, he'd let you know.

RIP Glenn.
