These are not the measures of a healthy society fighting a low-casualty war. This is Armageddon."

We would be so lucky as to have someone who purchased a plagiarized PhD from a diploma mill (which is common in Russian politics) and has convinced propagandists to amplify the message that he's some sort of academic expert on economics and resource allocation, or whatever his fake PhD says.

NB, his puppet Viktor Yanukovych, who Paul Manafort helped corruptly get elected in Ukraine, also had a fake PhD. I guess that's table stakes in corrupt kleptocracies.

The best thing about the pro-Putin crowd is that even when they criticize other people for doing things that Putin has done (even x1000), they would never dare say even one bad thing about the dude.

Like they will run with a completely fabricated story about Zelensky having used US aid money to purchase 2 yachts (along with vastly inflated fabrications of his net worth) while completely ignoring how a career bureaucrat like Putin was able to build a massive fortune, which some estimate could be $200B or more. Although to be fair, Putin's modest $700M yacht is an accounting error in his fortune.

But what will really get the Putin fans steamed is the US plan to confiscate $300B in Russian assets (including that yacht) in order to fund Ukraine's war effort.

How long before they claim 1M, 2M or more Ukrainians have died while pretending that Russia has actually brought Russian soldiers back from the dead?

The entire Russian narrative about this war making them stronger is remarkably, hilariously, prima facie farcical, and yet some useful idiots continue to amplify it and a small number of maroons even believe it.

I've recently read that around 40% of Russian casualties have been KIA due to their incredibly poor logistics and inability/disinterest in caring for their wounded. Believe it or not, trench foot is a serious problem for Russian soldiers and will only get worse as the winter wears on.

Ultimately, the value of a Russian soldier to Putin and the Kremlin is close to zero. Most are poorly trained, if trained at all, and have had very little invested in them so they can just find other minority Russians from outlying areas to replace them, while failing to pay their disability or death payments because Russia. From that perspective, Ukrainian losses matter far more because they could actually have an impact in the short-term, whereas Russian losses will only matter when it reaches a breaking point that causes enough Russian citiizens to risk their own lives to finally get Putin to stop this dumb, illegal invasion.

A common aspect of your Ukraine war coverage is the element of projection. In this case, the lack of Ukrainian support for their injured, and the lack of proper military training have been huge problems for Ukraine.

-There have been reports of Ukrainian wounded soldiers having to bribe first aid and ambulance people in order to be transferred to proper hospitals and get treatment.









-The great majority of Ukraine's military personnel are conscripts with very limited training. That's because most of the army they started out with has already been decimated. Ukrainian sources have stated that they need a monthly injection of 20,000 soldiers just to maintain the same level of military operation, which gives you an idea of their rate of attrition.

Putin is importing a lot of the war effort because their home-grown solutions aren't enough to beat their smaller neighbor. This war continues to be a humanitarian disaster for both sides and a massive strategic failure for Putin. While they have achieved a few of his primary goals (preventing Ukraine from competing economically with Russia) and ruining Ukrainian civilian lives, he's done so at great cost to Russia and the Russian people. It will take Russia years, if not decades, to recover from the disaster, even if they "win" by outlasting western resolve, which is their only path to "victory" given the performance of their military.

Since their Kinzhal hypersonic missiles have been complete failures, they're now relying on North Korean ballistic and cruise missiles. Fortunately, so far those missiles have been even worse performing than the junk Russia is unable to produce fast enough.

And since they are running out of convicts to throw into the meat-grinder, they are offering up passports to anyone dumb enough to sacrifice their last few months of life to this idiotic criminal war.

I'm sure we'll see a renewed propaganda push to distract from what's going on, similar to waves of Russian propaganda pretending that they killed Budanov and Zalushni (both of whom are very much alive) when they wanted to distract from the fact that they had no winter or spring offensive last year.

Ukraine has launched significant air strikes on Crimea within the last day or so. That's not really big news, since Russia is claiming that they've completely repelled the attack, but you may recall a poster in this thread claiming that attacks on Crimea would lead to WWIII and perhaps up to 100 million dead. LOLOLOLOL.




But remember, continuing to wage a 3-day war for 700+ days is making Russia stronger lol.

There are growing public divisions between Zelensky and other political leaders, such as former President Petro Poroshenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as a blame game builds over failures in the war so far. Worse still, Zelensky and the Commander-in-Chief, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, also seem to be in conflict. When Zaluzhnyi admitted that the war had reached a stalemate, Zelensky publicly rebuked him.

Apart from the overriding need for national unity in war, this suggests that Ukraine lacks a clear strategy for the future prosecution of the conflict.

The Business Insider article claims that Russia will have lost 500,000 soldiers by the end of this year, when their casualty figure (KIA plus injured) from the first 2 years is about a quarter that.

Going forward, the Ukrainians have fewer weapons, less ammunition and few trained soldiers, yet it is Russia that is going to lose hundreds of thousands of troops?
