Cannon issued an order stating that the most historic criminal trial in American history will commence Aug. 14.
That's just 55 days away, while most federal trials take up to a year or more as both sides prepare for an epic showdown in court.
Legal scholars have noted that this judge is something of a loose cannon, consistently making puzzling decisions that lean heavily in favor of the president who appointed her in his final months in office.
When she previously oversaw another case, Trump's legal challenge to the initial search of his south Florida oceanside estate of Mar-a-Lago, she inserted herself on dubious authority to halt the FBI investigation with red tape.
The New York Times, having reviewed her extremely short history on the bench so far, recently determined that she has spent only 14 days overseeing four criminal trialsa jaw-dropping level of inexperience for someone who is about to judge such a consequential trial involving long-lasting precedent on the nation's democracy.

My reaction:
A: on the one hand, this is stunning because she is ruining his strategy of Delay Delay Delay and setting him up to be bumped long before the race begins. I mean, he's guilty!
B: on the other hand, she has the ability to dismiss huge swaths of evidence so that the jury never hears vital (and ample) evidence! She can set weird rules for jury selection. A misguided jury could, ultimately, find Trump innocent. Or, the judge can simply throw the case out and an accused cannot be charged again (double jeopardy).
C: however, the sooner these Florida charges are resolved, the sooner Trump can be charged in the same case but in New Jersey by the same federal prosecutor, as reports are he has held back some charges which occurred at Trump's Bedminster Club.
D: and, Georgia is ready to charge by August, prosecutor Fani Willis has declared, not to mention Jan6 Seditious Conspiracy charges by Feds next.
So, from my perspective, Game On!! This is great news because one of these is going to get him. And the Delay tactic only continues to madden me. Shut this ******* up and scrape him off the public scene. Let's get on with actually trying to make America great again.

I guess the Trumpanzees are too busy being upset that the U.S. Attorney in Delware, David Weiss (a Trump Appointee) has agreed to a Pretrial Diversion Agreement for Hunter Biden and his gun charge. Apparently, he's in treatment and that's acceptable to the U.S. Attorney's office. A judge will ultimately decide the sentencing.
