I used to work in the same building where Scott Adams worked years ago and where he probably got the inspiration for Dilbert. Endless rows of cubicles.

It was the old Pacific Bell headquarters building in San Ramon; I think it's owned by AT&T now.

I was gonna post something similar: one of my old roommates at Cal worked for Pac Bell where Adams worked (didn't know him) and swore that that was where he got a lot of his material for Dilbert.

RIP Scott Adams

A few months ago, I listened to Larry Charles' audiobook memoir.

It's really good.

If you don't know who Larry Charles is, he was a writer on ABC's early 1980s SNL knockoff Fridays. That's where he met Larry David and Michael Richards.

Charles would become one of the key writers on Seinfeld, winning an Emmy or two.

He then went on to become showrunner of Mad About You.

Then he became showrunner of Entourage.

Then director of Curb Your Enthusiasm's first 5 or 6 seasons.

Then he teamed up with Sacha Baron Cohen and directed the movie Borat.

Then he directed two more movies with Cohen.

Nowhere in his memoir, as far as I remember, did he mention that he co-created a UPN show that lasted two seasons (from 1999-2000) called Dilbert. His other co-creator was Scott Adams.

By the way, on the TV show Dilbert, Dilbert was voiced by Daniel Stern of Home Alone fame.

Daniel Stern is in the news this week, too.

Scott attended the evening MBA at Hastings in the TL while I was door guy there working as errand guy for the day program in Barrows as well.
Hopefully they upgraded that facility.
