I guess one of my many questions about that statement would be... he wants to take over Gaza and he wants to broker peace in Ukraine but without the Ukrainians at the table. These aren't even his countries he's saving!

It's not surprising. Trump negotiated the Abraham Accords that supposedly brought peace between the Arabs and the Israelis without most of the Arab countries being involved.

The current government of Ukraine has constitutionally banned any negotiation with Russia to end the war, and they have gone as far as executing Ukrainians who they deem soft on Russia.

In Gaza, it is the Israelis who have had a long history of killing Palestinian negotiators.

It is a very disturbing statement that is topped by his willingness to say it out loud. The answer is No, you do not get to break the law in the name of (according to him) saving the country. F that noise.

Trump's proposal is intended to reach that result by removing Hamas. It seems pretty clear he's creating a worse option (at least in theory) so that the Palestinians will accept a compromise.

He's also putting pressure on Qatar/Egypt and other countries who support Hamas but won't accept any refugees. Put up or shut up. According to google/AI, over 5M Syrians fled Syria due to war and were accepted by other countries. Why are they not accepting Palestinian refugees?

There's a 0% chance Palestinians are forcibly removed from Gaza. Some may voluntarily leave if given an option.

The Gaza death cult supporters love to see the reaction that their grotesque behavior generates. The Arab tv stations broadcast the crowd jeering at the dead bodies as they were transferred. What a lovely society they have in Gaza. The death cult meanwhile planted bombs on Israeli buses that luckily blew up in the bus yard without hurting anyone. The long struggle to eliminate this death cult will continue as always.

Yes, though if you look at the kinds of crazy things he says you can understand directionally where he wants it to go.
So would still say that if you care about Palestinians it's not a good sign that his crazy talk is in the direction of "let's get all the Palestinians out for good."

For once, you're right, it's probably a much higher figure than 20,000.

I used a conservative figure, it could be up to 5-6 times higher due to the effects of forced starvation and lack of water and sanitary facilities due to the Israeli blockade and deliberate demolitions of hospitals, schools and infrastructure in Gaza.

The Israelis have systematically backed the most radical elements in Gaza, and even then they have targeted and killed many Hamas negotiators. Despite that, there is some indication that even Hamas would be open to a 2-state solution along the 1967 borders:



Fact is, most Israelis are opposed to this type of settlement today, the last Israeli political figure who genuinely worked towards a viable 2-state solution was Itzak Rabin, who was assassinated by Israeli fanatics whose supremacist ideology has been a fixture of Israeli governments for decades now.

very much agree that with a little effort you can often piece together the actual objective.

This one…my guess is this is a simple effort to back Hamas into a corner where recognizing Israel becomes the price for being able to stay in Gaza

Well Duh. They were just invaded, had civilians killed, kidnapped and tortured and they see civilian Palestinians celebrating as Israeli prisoners are paraded about. Who in their right mind see that and says "yeah, let's negotiate with them to be our permanent neighbors. They seem trustworthy and likely to be good neighbors."

They tried this path years ago when they forcibly removed Israeli's from Gaza in the land for peace deal. They got the October massacre as Thanks.
