Satellite internet always had a lag problem compared to terrestrial Internet systems. Do we really want the FAA to have laggy Internet?

Once again, the FAA has a valid contract with Verizon. There will likely be penalties for cancelling it. Do we really need to waste money to make Elon even richer?
Unrelated to the back and forth and just to internet access...

Here in (very) rural Wyoming, I've had a DSL line since I moved here (we still don't have fiber optics). It's amazing when there's not competition for the lines how fast that 25+ year old technology actually works. With that DSL line and download speeds of about 10mbs. I'm able to flawlessly stream video, doing pretty complex computing stuff... the real drawback is the upload speed is awful, and it can be choppy on video calls - not awful, but not smooth, which is a problem if you're having an important video call or recording something.

Starlink has been amazing. Super easy to set-up and download speeds of 200mbs and more importantly upload speeds of 30mbs.

I keep them both for fail over and because my DSL service is part of my residential phone service which comes with an honest to goodness landline, which is fun to use and has such better fidelity than either cell or internet calls. When people visit part of the experience is using the corded phone!

Well if they were doing that research, I'm sure they can find many left wing universities that will give them a 'job'. Like the failed police captain during J6 who got hired to oversee Cal's univ police force.

Even back then, my students knew that money from the US govt would just get stolen by corrupt leaders instead of doing to the people it was ostensibly intended to help.

I will never forget being in Zimbabwe and making a friend with one of the workers at the hotel where I was staying. He was probably 25, and was emphatic that he hoped the US would not send money to his country because he knew that it was just go to Mugabe and his cronies. I was in awe at this person's global awareness and courage to speak up against the corruption.

With regard to voters it is called "watch out what you wish for."
I have no empathy for anyone that voted for a candidate that cuts off funds for medical research that could have helped them, but more importantly, helped someone that didn't vote for the candidate.

My statement is based on the premise that DOGE is cutting funding to medical research.

For example, his administration used USAID funds that were designated to Pakistan and funded a Twitter clone that would be used to push propaganda in Cuba to inspire protests by paying people to riot and overthrow the government.
