It's been amusing watching conservatives discover why their extreme support of free-market capitalism might be starting to come back and bite them in the arse. If they want to talk about regulating social media, okay, we can talk about a lot of other stuff that could use more regulation too. How about we start with health care?OaktownBear said:What conservative pundits and politicians need to get a clue about is that Facebook, Twitter, Google, Amazon, airlines, corporations, employers, etc., are all in the business of making money. Outside of their little psychotic bubbles of right wing, fringe, conspiracy media, it is no longer good business to keep serving them. They can claim Facebook is taking over society because that works for their little messaging. But Facebook merely responds to society. Facebook should be especially concerning to them. Facebook is the #1 company peddling the ability to influence people. They are essentially an arms dealer that sells to the highest bidder without any ethics. Well, the arms dealer realizes they have been caught selling to the 20% that the world detests and the 20% have used it to attack the other 80%. The giant just woke up and the arms dealer is afraid of losing the 80%.going4roses said:going4roses said:
Basically, go find yourself another platform. And realize if a large majority of decent people didn't loathe what you have done, you'd still be on all of these platforms and businesses wouldn't be pulling donations and employers wouldn't be firing people.

I've heard that Lincoln was pretty ripped, and he's even taller than Jackson.dajo9 said:Now this is interesting. Got me thinking which President's would fare well if we had them all brawl with each other. There is actually a wikipedia page that ranks them all by height. Teddy Roosevelt has the right temperament but was 5'8. I'm probably going with the 6'1 Andrew Jackson. Wikipedia says Jackson was considered a bully as a kid. He also got facial scars from a sword strike from a British officer when Jackson refused to clean his boots.sycasey said:I would love to see Teddy Roosevelt kick his ass.okaydo said:
The mods want us to flag posts, but the options for flagging are all about profanity, personal attacks, off-topic posts, etc. There needs to be another option for "propaganda/misinformation."blungld said:I wish all would stop responding and quoting him.BearChemist said:When you spat with BearFarce can you at least try not to quote him? Nah. Keep your spank bank to yourself.
I also wish that a person as far gone as him could be removed (or just sign off) from the community because there is no conversation made better by his misinformation, propaganda, lies, and stupidity. There have always been posters here who are more or less interesting, but the last 10 years have seen the slow rise of trolling and truly forum-ruining people. It's such a shame that there aren't more reasoned interesting posters who represent conservative and other perspectives on the issues. It would be cool to have real exchanges of ideas with the intent to learn from one another. Instead we have a handful of caustic buffoons who have no consistent ideology or moral compass spouting insults and conspiratorial drivel who now are sadly representative of the national de-evolution and fall of the GOP.
We used to have Cal-worthy discussions, now it's mostly dumb memes and dumber talking points from brainwashed Trump loyalists.

Why hasn't Trump called these insurrectionists sons of *****es or animals? He has said so many bad things about so many groups of people but all they've said so far is that they condemn violence of all kinds. I think we all know the answers and far too many republicans want to avoid the harsh truth.

I think Teddy being so short would make it even better when he took Trump down though.
I recall someone once telling us that "when the looting starts, the shooting starts." Something like that.Unit2Sucks said:

Well, yeah, but I'd like to think the Krafts and Belichick are more in the "I'm a Republican so I support Trump" category, though they're actually friends.
