We didn't like the 10% unemployment under Trump, which is why he began the spending spree that caused inflation
.
Yes, the spending spree started under Trump to combat covid shutting down the economy. Biden continued it, despite the reopening.
Yes, the consensus was to continue. Trump said Biden's covid stimulus was too small. The stimulus was too much but still better than massive unemployment.

Hingsight is 20/20 but I think it is clear from the surge in deposits that are only now being reduced that all the stimulus plans were too large but that kind of economic targeting is nearly impossible in real time.

The consensus was for $6 Trillion in additional spending?

Potential of $6.2 Trillion.

Trump bragging about how HUUUUUGE the CARES ACT was ....

THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you all very much.

This is a very important day. I'll sign the single-biggest economic relief package in American history and, I must say, or any other package, by the way. It's twice as large as any relief ever signed. It's $2.2 billion, but it actually goes up to 6.2 potentially billion dollars trillion dollars. So you're talking about 6.2 trillion-dollar bill. Nothing like that. And this will deliver urgently needed relief to our nation's families, workers, and businesses. And that's what this is all about.

Your posts here indicate that you dont have a very good fundamental grasp of economics.

Did it ever to occur to you that there were factors that cut supply and increased demand that had nothing to do with stimulus money from the American Rescue Plan?

One reason the labor market is so strong is because the labor force has been reduced by peolle having died from Covid, older individuals using the pandemic as a reason to retire, and shutting immigration down at the border.

"All the labor shortages drove up wages. They created demand. At the same time, when the economy shut down, people couldnt spend. That pent-up demand had nothing to do with the American Rescue Plan."

So, then, if we make them legal then they pay taxes and problem solved, right?

I have a strong feeling that Mr. Movielover didnt care about Trump's Trade War with China that hammered the blue-collar workers in the Rustbelt and Farmbelt with devastating TARIFFS that put the MANUFACTURING SECTOR officially into a Recession.

The tariffs were so damaging that they put FAMILY FARMS into the highest rate of Bankruptcy in nearly a Decade.

But Movielover conveniently IGNORES these FACTS.
Just a terribly ignorant poster.

Biden has expanded, and not reduced, the tariffs.

I admit, as a globalist and free market advocate, I was against unilateral tariffs even against China. However, Trump's actions against China was one of the things Trump did right.

While I still believe that tariffs against our allies alienated any appetite to have a unified effort against China and created an unnecessary tax on US consumers, the tariff against China was in fact needed.

It did cause many companies that had streamlined supply chain and manufacturing to China to diversify and many are now looking at limiting manufacturing in China only for sales in China.

Seeing how China was limiting manufacturing of key pharmaceutical supplies for sales in China made it even clearer of our need not to rely too much on our geopolitical and economic enemy. They are looking to steal our innovation, prioritize products made in China for sales in China, and impose unilateral restrictions on US companies. Why are we allowing free access to our markets when they are placing such high costs of accessing their markets? They are no longer even the cheaper option.

All for pushing back on China's efforts to put us down and increase their standings.

He did need better people, but he was battling the vile Swamp corruption and Democrat / FBI "lawfare".

Nevertheless, we had no new wars, no proxy war with Russia, NATO members contributed record remittances, the border was mostly sealed, energy and food were cheap. We had peace and prosperity. Then the DC Plandemic was unrolled.

Biden's a disaster from the jump, proxy war with Russia, 40-year high inflation, 4.5 million illegal immigrants, ongoing budget disaster, NATO and US military humbled, Russia grows in strength.

Humm. Just two years ago Russia had an untested military (like most), and 190,000 men in uniform? What does Russia have now?

1. A trained military of 500,000 - 700,000 with varying levels of experience.
2. A highly effective Vagner group.
3. Recruiting another 400,000 men into the military.
4. Low cost, highly effective and coordinated drone strategies and equipment.
5. From recently leaked Pentagon Papers 2.0, a reported 7-to-1 kill ratio; some assert a 10-to-1 kill ratio.
6. A closer military relationship - at minimum with China and Iran.
7. Another 200,00p plus volunteers.
8. Ukranian / NATO military decimated; European stockpiles depleted.
9. Key Eastern Ukranian industrial region largely in the control of Russia, an area rich in key natural
resources, win / win for Russia.

This is full of hilariously false information. Do you have evidence the Texeira leak showed a 7:1 ratio in favor of Russia or did you learn that false information from some Twitter blue check like NotUsefulIdiot8675309 or AntiTransWokester3456?

The actual leak showed more than 2.5:1 in favor of Ukraine but separating fact from fiction doesn't seem to fall into your self-described powers of discerning reputable sources from fake news.

Continue to enjoy seeing how well you've taken to your radicalization. Your fawning characterization of Russia's efforts exceeds even that of paid propagandists but you don't even seem to notice. At least ISIS could complain about western aggression in the Middle East but you've have opted into Russian propaganda with zero reason other than, I suppose, because you can't accept that your dear leader Trump can't win elections.

ALL YOU DO IS LIE.

THE PENTAGON SAID THAT THE U.S. LEFT BEHIND $7 BILLION IN AFGHANISTAN.

THE U.S. GAVE A TOTAL OF $18.6 BILLION OF EQUIPMENT TO THE AFGHAN NATIONAL DEFENSE AND SECURITY FORCES FROM 2005 - 2021.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH $50 - $70 BILLION?

"Nearly all equipment used by U.S. military forces in Afghanistan was either retrograded or destroyed prior to our withdrawal and is not part of the '$7.12 billion' figure cited in the DoD report," according to Army Major Rob Loedwick, a DoD spokesperson.

You have to be a complete fool to not acknowledge that these numbers in the picture above are patently false. Gen. Milley and Ursula von der Leyen, EU chief (and former German Defense Minister, so not a complete idiot on matters of war) both publicly admitted that Ukraine has lost more than 100,000 soldiers all the way back in November.

A crash in commercial real estate will create more supply for housing as properties are transitioned over - which is a good thing for housing because there is a shortage.

Commercial real estate is likely to have tough times ahead because of the internet continuing to displace retail and work from home policies reducing demand for office space. Both of these are changes that benefit people.
