This woman's story seems a little kooky. First, this 'model' is dating (having sex) with creepy Epstein.

Then they go meet Trump at Trump Tower, mid-day - where he allegedly fondled her in front of Epstein. Epstein and Trump allegedly had this all planned out, and enjoyed it. This is happening with family, children, staff, maids, workers, all coming and going.

But then outside, when the non-deed is done, crass man-of-the-underworld Epstein was revolted by an alleged high school fondling - which he set up!?

It doesn't make sense.

I hope it's not a sign of desperation -- or if it is, please let it be an unfounded one -- the fact that the Harris campaign (including the Vice President herself) is going full on Trump-is-an-existential-threat right now, 12 days before the election.

Far less than half the voters even know what "existential" means. Nor do they care.

Maybe it turns out that this was the right argument, but personally I'm not a fan of this shift. It's too close to the same argument Biden was making (not very successfully) before he dropped out. Seemed to me that the earlier approach of just making fun of him while pushing your own domestic agenda was better.

The "existential threat" argument is a bad one because it is both not believable and untrue. The country and democracy survived 4 years of Trump - just like it will survive 4 years of Biden, 4 more years of Trump (if he wins), and 4 years of Harris (if she wins). These are stupid claims that fire up the base (inclusive of the many far left people on the board). Some republicans, including Trump, make similar arguments. Its red meat, but does nothing to convince swing voters and probably alienates them.

Meanwhile, at tonight's town hall, Harris was asked what her number one legislative/policy objective will be if she wins, and should could not formulate an actual answer. It is her inability to articulate an agenda (or even a cogent argument) that explains her campaign and poll struggles. She's an awful candidate/retail politician, in large part because she has no clear policy or political philosophy (other than the accumulation of power). She can spout leftist rhetoric (which is all that's required to win in California), but she's utterly incapable of formulating actual arguments to defend the Biden/Harris unpopular policies. Swing voters see that and are not impressed.

I will fix your confusion:

If we could have the rule of law apply to Trump, choose a President by popular vote, have the Supreme Court be a body of the people, and counter misinformation from foreign adversaries, we could save democracy.

Which is why they spend years lining up various rigging operations. That, and they feel morally superior, which they aren't.

I have a decades-long friend who's a professor in DC: claims to be Independent, but hates Trump, and endorses 95% of what the Left sells. I ask him basic questions via email, and he appears stumped. He names 'conservative' writers I've never heard of, employed by the NYT and such. Had never heard of Victor Davis Hanson or Jordan Peterson. Didn't know Ukraine was getting crushed. Travels extensively, but unaware and incurious to Europe devolving as he's a hanger on with the low-level elites.

I have to disagree with this point. Progressives and NGOs are purposefully flooding the country with illegal immigrants, specifically in swing states. Kamala Harris will give Amnesty to 5 million or 20 million, and their hope is this will lock in a Democrat majority for decades.

Along with a 4th term, won't-go-away Barack Obama, superficially a uniter, but really a historically divisive president. (On top of that, he took Bush's Patriot Act changes, and turned the Intell agencies against their adversaries, while also making the FBI and DOJ Progressive idealogues.)

All they're interested in is power. The Left used to be staunchly anti war - they're now NeoCons. It's so bizarre. NeoCons supported by elite Billionaires and hi tech newbies.

There will be no corrections back to a center. It will be Left, Far Left, Progressives and Marxists, Big Government stooges. Like our HSR train to nowhere, and the California Water Board blasting Elon Musk. They'll drive him and his middle class manufacturing jobs and innovative companies out of California, then whine about declining tax revenues.

Yep. Each side seems to feel that there is not enough time to start to tackle real long term problems with our country in a mature way. They see no value in building alliances with the other side. Not good.

I generally agree that the left and NGOs have the agenda you describe. Harris admitted as such at the townhall yesterday where she essentially acknowledged that the dems created the border problems because they wanted leverage in negotiating a congressional "global" immigration deal (i.e., amnesty). It is and has been transparent. It should be opposed. The policies are deeply unpopular outside the beltway.

However, if Harris wins, I disagree that the election of Harris would be the end of democracy. The dems have been doing this for years and were expecting immigrant and subsequent generations to be staunchly dem. But they are not, as evidenced by Trump's growing popularity among African Americans, Hispanics (particularly the younger generation), and other immigrant groups. The same checks and balances that limited Trump will limit Biden. If Harris is elected, there almost certainly will be divided government.

Ultimately, people vote their interests which are mostly perceived through an economic lens. Biden/Harris and the progressive left have over reached and the backlash will eventually arrive (quite possibly in the next 2 weeks).

The true threat to democracy is the erosion of the first amendment (complete inversion by the left) and the growth of the federal (authoritarian) bureaucracy/government with the former abetting the later). That is why they hate Elon Musk.

Do you have close friends, and I mean long time close friends, that you know and get along with well except (now) about politics. I do. And some of their thoughts appear wacky to me. I think I know why but I just let it go. One of my lightbulb moments occurred when a family friend helped me understand my neuropsychology exams I had to take to get my license back. A year before Biden was 'dismissed' he told me in no uncertain terms that Biden displayed no cognitive issues other than a bit of normal age degradation. He was sure he was fully capable of serving another term as president. I thought he was wacky but realized that like my other friends they will contrive all sorts of stories to validate their beliefs that Trump must be defeated. I have yet to hear one say anyone of their side is very flawed but they'd rather deal with their flaws than vote for Trump. I still don't think they are wacky just a bit defensive. That's ok, I get that way when I'm obsessing about making some meaningless points to a friend or wife or daughter.
