Not a fan of the "land acknowledgement" stuff. I suppose it doesn't hurt anyone either, so I'm not going to get mad about it, but I don't see the point.

1) Please write a clear definition of what makes an organization a cult.

2) Then a clear correspondence from that definition to the people here who are supporting Harris. What makes their decision to vote for her a cult.

3) And finally how the Democratic Party meets the definition of cult, and presumably how MAGE does not meet that definition.

Let's see if things you say have any thought behind them.

Kamala's first announced policy was something that came from left field: to propose price control on food.

This is indicative of the problem with VP Harris and if the GOP is smart, they will spend more time trying to pin her down on her policies and less time with the racist and misogynist stuff (and forget about Walz entirely).

She should have vetted this idea about stopping price gouging, or at least explained it better (I could have helped her with the wording). Instead, her people think they are the smartest folks in the room, but they are unable to come up with a big picture philosophy for her (and she surely doesn't have one of her own). Instead, it was like, "They're trying to hit us on inflation! Quick, let's come up with a few bullet point actions to fight inflation!"

She never said anything about price-gouging, she wants to stop the rampant scourge of price-gauging, there's too much of that going on and it's hurting the people.
How do you define price-gouging when the margins and profits are lower now and even at the height of inflation than it was pre-pandemic? And where is the evidence of rampant price-gouging? And how do you stop "price-gouging" without price control?

Do you know what is driving down inflation? Market forces and not regulation. Just basics of supply and demand. Yes, you can stimulate or control otherwise overheating demand environment with monetary and fiscal policies, but market forces will lower inflation when demand is reduced. Why have prices not increased as much recently? Because the government is not giving away free money as much and interest rate is high, and people are pushing back against rising prices and do not have as much discretionary income to fight over limited supply by bidding up prices. Now, consumers are choosing the lower priced options. That lowers demand leading to decreased competition for finite supply which leads to lower prices.

Government social engineering such as artificially encouraging home ownership to people who cannot afford and pushing college education to those people who are not best suited or beyond capacity in legitimate universities have always created bubbles and crashes, with over inflation on prices leading to people overburdened with debt and with rising homelessness and exacerbating the original problem.

Hell is paved with good intentions, especially when those intentions are executed by inexperienced politicians and bureaucrats with zero business sense.

"According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, non-financial corporate profit margins increased from 11.3% in 2020 Q1 to 19.2% in 2021 Q2, following the COVID-19 pandemic. By the end of 2022, the margin had decreased to 15.1%, which is similar to the level after the Global Financial Crisis."

"US corporate profit margins are at record highs, despite slowing price inflation and rising wage increases. Looking at the whole US economy, non-financial sector profit margins are at their highest level in the 21st century (over 16%) and not far short of the record levels of the 'golden age' of capitalist growth in the mid-1960s"

Now try again ibefore 2020 and not the first quarter of COViD and using actual operating margin. Between 2016-2018, inflation was below 3% and closer to 2% but actual operating margins were higher than at the height of inflation for major food and grocery companies. Using some margin that eliminates the cost of operations for these companies with heavy labor and transportation cost is nonsense when discussing whether food companies are price gouging. Should we just pretend that cost of labor, interest, rent, transportation etc. does not matter? The net income per $1.00 of revenue was higher before 2018 than the height of inflation. How is it that these food and grocery companies made more in margin and net income before 2018 than height of inflation if the inflation was due to price gouging by these food companies? And how could they realize a higher operating profit when inflation was around 2% than at the height of inflation if inflation was caused by price gouging?

I actually see it the opposite way. The media did a huge disservice to the voting public by not covering Kamala when she ran for President in 2020. I know you are ignorant of such things in your bubble, but she has spent the last 4 years speaking, especially to young people, and generating an undercurrent of enthusiasm. All ignored by the media. I only know because of young people I follow on social media who have been posting her enthusiastic receptions for years. She is the only one on the Democratic side that could do what she has done with President Biden stepping aside. She was the only alternative.

I have been incredibly impressed in the last month by Vice President Harris' strong presence and command and control. She has executed this transition flawlessly. The media has nothing to do with it. That is why they hate her. She owes them nothing. Does not need to cater to their old fashioned ways. And why the right is so confused about what is happening right now.

Donold had zero idea this could happen with Vice President Harris. Zero. Caught completely flat footed. An unserious man well past his political expiration date.

The media didn't cover Kamala the way you wanted them to because she was polling less than 1% among Democrats before Tulsi Gabbard finally took her out at the primary debate.

You were heaping similar praise on Joe Biden before the Democrats ended his political career.

Wow. I had to go back and research this. I don't follow debates much but maybe I need to follow primary debates more.

Kamala Harris was widely considered the winner of the first Democratic primary debate for 2020. Her polling doubled from 8% to 17% and her donations surged. She was subsequently ignored by the media. She submitted a Medicare for All plan that was center-left and drew attacks from the Bernie bros (hi Yogi). By the 3rd and 4th debate she was given the 5th and 6th most speaking time.

Her 2020 presidential campaign was completely kneecapped by corporate media. She owes them nothing.

IMO the real issue with Kamala in 2020 was that she made a poor decision to run to the left in the primary, but that lane was already crowded with Bernie and Warren and she was never going to beat them for that vote. Doing so also forced her to run away from her own record as a DA and AG, which resulted in a terribly awkward campaign message.

Now that she knows not to do that, she's much more easily drawing support. Remember that a lot of people considered her a talented up-and-comer between 2016-2020. This is like the highly-rated athlete who gets thrown into a bad situation as a rookie and needs a change of scenery to finally shine. Like Steve Young or something.

Kamala Harris was a weak DA, a weak Senator, a weak VP, and a weak POTUS candidate.

Luckily, she is running against The Donald.

I do not think she would have come out of a fair primary as the Democrat candidate.

However, she's the only candidate other than Biden that the Dems could appoint without completely delegitimizing the process.

Agree with this take. Would also add: As she doesn't really have a coherent ideology (other than being left of center... sometimes just a bit, sometimes a lot), she sometimes can appear to be a flip-flopper, or a hodge-podger (just made that one up!). Fortunately, Trump has lowered the level of debate to where "inconsistent policies" seem way above the concerns of the average voter. (Maybe they always were... )
